Most number of games scoring at least 27 points since 2020...

Bills
Buccaneers
Vikings

 Record

Bills 16-2

Buccaneers 17-1

Vikings 10-8
Bump for those who need to read things three or four times for them to sink in...
THANK YOU. Another glaring reason Zimmer is past it. He has so far produced two of the nfl worst defenses and he is a defensive guru.

We and the media need to see for what it is: he cant coach his team to play the defense he was once good at or teams have caught up with his defensive schemes. However you look at it, its not working and we should have moved on a long time ago.

You can blame covid, blame injuries, blame missed assignments but you know what? All these excuses fall at the feet of the coach.

Poor/ wrong personnel, poor coaching, predictable defensice schemes and maybe even poor calls is what I attribute this failure to

The Zimmer era is over… it has been over for two plus years and counting.

Anything less than a Spielman and Zimmer firing is just continuing the heartbreak that Vikings fans are accustomed to. Thing must change

So, let me see if I understand.

Lions haven't scored 20 in a game since week 1.

Vikings D gives up 20 to said team IN ONE QUARTER OF FOOTBALL.

Cousins is to blame.

Gotcha.

I'm not saying we have stupidest fan base in the NFL, but we're definitely in the window licker division if you believe that.
Perfectly said. Cousins has had this team in position to win several times this year and the defense has crapped the bed. The offensive play calling has been horrenduous, yet Cousins has us in position to win. Then we play prevent lack luster defense, and it prevents us from winnng.

The Patriots have allowed just 3 total points in the 2nd half over last 5 games.
@gmfb

Damn. Hard to believe we passed on Mac Jones.

Zim wants to be Belichick so badly with a stingy, smart D and strong running game, but just doesn't have a clue how to do it consistently.  The gap is huge between Belichick and Zim.  I was hoping we had more when Zim was hired.
Would anyone be surprised to see the Pats vs Bucs in the SB?  I wouldn't, and it would be interesting.

I was the first one to get on the Jones bandwagon.  Like I said back in January of 2021...   he does all the little things you want to see college QBs do...  Know where his hot read is and get the ball out quick under pressure...  he got body shamed for not being athletic, but he navigates the pocket well to buy time...  and if I remember correctly, he wasnot only the best college QB under pressure and against the blitz...  but I think Joe Burrow was the only one better than Mac Jones in the last three drafts.

You couldn't have missed the point further if you were Blair Walsh.

Yes, KC has his limits for all to see...But it's amazing the offense has been as prolific with him as its been --

Considering how piss poor this OL still is

Imagine the outcome of a couple of those losses this year if the OL was just average?

Since this thread has gone a little off-topic anyways I'll add that holy cow, what a masterful coaching job by Bill Belichek last night. Outgunned, outmanned, in a hostile environment and wild conditions and the guy calls three pass plays and wins! Buffalo had chances and could have stolen the game many different ways but Pats held firm. Impressive.
I wonder how many other coaches in the league could win that game with the Pats roster last night. Maybe a few, but certainly not in that same fashion. Was fun to watch.

I was super pissed that they didn't score after the interception. Missed opportunity
Those opportunities have been missed all year. Most teams see turnovers as an opportunity to capitalize on the shift in momentum. More often than not, the Vikings just go back to the script, like any other new set of downs.

Kubiak doesn't seem to recognize, or at least utilize, the natural rhythms of momentum. In boxing, for example, what happens when your opponent stumbles? Do you stay where you are? Go back to your corner? No, you go after him and knock him the fuck out.

Sure, easier said than done, but I don't recall too many times when the Vikings have taken shots into the end zone after a big play or a turnover.

Have you watched him this season?  Yes, he didn't do much last night given the windy conditions and the game plan, but he's been very good for them this season.  Easily the most impressive rookie QB in this class.  Yes, the Patriots defense is dominant this year, but part of that is Mac Jones steady play.  More often than not, he doesn't put his defense in a bad spot with costly turnovers.  This is largely the same team as last year, but you put Mac Jones in at QB instead of Cam Newton.  Amazing how a good QB that avoids big mistakes can help his defense out.
