Tough read here about NASCAR fans
#41
this was a joke front to back. the three day rule is always in play for me especially if the MSM is pushing the narrative.

Bizarre story and even more if the "noose" is simply a door pull rope that is on every single garage door and has been there for 8+ months. If that's true, how did Wallace not understand that? How did other drivers not? That's like seeing a can of gasoline in your garage, accepting it for months, and one day deciding it's a bomb planted by someone and calling the police  - and all your friends agreeing with you. If that's all it was, Wallace and all the drivers who supported him are either crazy stupid or part of some conspiracy. IDK...reading some of the further reports, there are odd comments like, "it was a noose but not a functioning noose". What does that mean?

I am still challenged to believe this was contrived by NASCAR to generate more viewership, but my main reason for disbelief is that the key information many people will take away is, "NASCAR only has 1 minority driver", which will just confirm the impression of the sport being full of hillbillies. But hey, maybe they are not trying to attract open-minded people...maybe NASCAR thinks there are some people who like the idea of a sport that is still full of white faces and is trying to draw any who aren't already fans.
Door pull ropes aren't typically nooses. The rope was fashioned into a noose by someone.

In fact, true racism is such an American rarity...that it has to be created out of whole cloth/thin air.

A ridiculous statement that can only be made by someone who's not black. And part of the reason there is systemic racism.

**sigh**
Photographic evidence (that even Wallace admitted was true) revealed, that, whatever it  was...had been there for months.
Wallace has also (belatedly, but gracefully) admitted he was NOT THE TARGET.
What a stretch of credulity, that some want to maintain, that racism is an omnipresent/systemic reality of everyday American life.

In fact, true racism is such an American rarity...that it has to be created out of whole cloth/thin air.
The demand for it (racism) far supersedes the supply.  So much so, it has to be bought.
By Smollett or the MSM.

The only difference it makes that it was there for months is that Wallace was clearly not a specific target. Still, someone thought it was funny or clever or whatever to fashion a pull rope into a noose. I think everyone knows what a noose represents. Maybe the person who did it meant nothing by it. Maybe he's too stupid to know what it means. Maybe he knew exactly what he was doing. We'll probably never know.

But your comment on racism in America is ignorant. Go to Fox News comments sections or Reddit or Youtube or any other site that allows "anonymous" comments on news stories, videos, etc. It's a bathroom wall of KKK-level, vile and disgusting remarks. Gone are the dog whistles and coded language that you see on more monitored forums (and the President). It's just up front, hood-off racism.

Shouldn't the proper response from the left also be relief rather than just continuing to imply everyone's a racist because they didn't "respond" correctly?  Why continue to try to divide the country?  Can't we just admit that maybe in this one case racism wasn't really an issue?

Nooses arent hard to tie. A rope that leaves a nice handle on it like that door has and doesnt close on your hand are harder. Frankly such a knot would be quite utilitarian vs some throwback racist thing. I have a few doors here on the farm that could use such a rope handle as they only have a small knot at the end.  I would guess those nascar doors are heavier then most of my doors and would need a loop/handle.

My not white privleged friends have never looked at my shed door ropes and thought I was trying to lynch them.

I think the proper reaction from everyone should be relief. But speaking of dividing the country, I haven't heard anyone put this in "left/right" terms except you.

Well, the important thing is to wait for some self-proclaimed "woke" person, strangely often a well-off female leftist, to tell everyone what a proper response is.

(this would be sarcasm, for those needing assistance)

Dude, we've been teaching you guys how to behave in a modern world for the last 50 years. If it weren't for us, you backwards-ass country fucks would still be using words like "fireman" and "stewardess," harassing women at work, bashing gays and telling racist jokes with a wink and a nod.

We enjoy our work, but a little thanks every now and then would be nice.
