If your referring to him neglecting the O-Line in drafts or FA in getting quality players as the reason, then I would agree. The ONLY thing I wonder is how much the death of Tony Sparano had on the play of the O-line this year. Losing him was a huge deal for the team (outside of his family of course). Would our O-line be playing at a higher level if this tragedy never happened? Just makes me wonder.

Yeah it was about 2:15 or 2:20 left in the game. That definitely tells me something. Thielen and Diggs are too talented not to be having an impact throughout the game. Same goes for Cook. The weapons are there, they need to be utilized more. And adjustments need to be made to get plays moving faster. When Cousins doesn't have a lot of time, hurry the play up. They need more balance but they need to quit wasting time and talent. I hated that 7 step drop on 3rd and 1. Seriously? What the hell was that?
I think it was an Eagles sabotage job all along.

So he just ran the most basic of plays and they got stuffed.
But he at least followed orders.
its not the plays that you call.... every team has a lot of the same plays, its how you set those plays up, its when you call those plays, its the formations and motions used presnap that set up more favorable matchups for those same plays. people always want to talk about imagination, but IMO its just about lining up and executing a well designed and timely called play, this team hasnt been doing any of that. We repeatedly fail to exploit known opposing teams weaknesses and completely ignore their strengths.
I hate to see anybody lose a job leading into the holidays... but something had to change or a lot more people would be in line to lose their jobs right after the holidays.
All I know is Stefanski has no experience at all. Why would I believe he is going to do better?
Defenses have changed the way they defend the Vikings too as a few of the players mentioned.
The players are responsible more than anyone else.
This week they should look better which may lead to get the false impression that the new OC is better than JDF.
The Dolphins with their lowly ranked defense at home sure could cure a lot of ills.

Didn't hear that. But seems like the players were frustrated with the play calling as well.
The field mic also picked up Wagner tell Remmers "You didn't come to play today." After the game he said in an interview that "the Vikings ran exactly what we saw on film. It was easy to figure out what they were calling". Compare that to the Patriots game were Zimmer said he didn't have the team ready and that the Patriots came at them with new schemes they hadn't seen on film before. Flip's early success was before teams had film to study. He was too predictable and didn't seem to have any feel for playcalling. Over the past several weeks when teams started doubling Diggs and Thielen, he had no answers.
I'll admit that I was willing to give DeFillipo another year provided they brought in a new OL coach/running game coordinator, but certain things like the running game never getting going, defenses basically knowing what we were running, and his inability to find answers when teams started doubling both Thielen and Diggs are bad. We're fortunate to have Stefanski on the staff, he's had a chance to learn from a variety of coaches and coach a variety of positions, so I'm curious to see what he's capable of. Though I do worry about his lack of play calling experience.
I'm curious to see how much he can change things up at this stage of season. He can certainly adjust the run/pass frequency, but will he make moves like benching Remmers for Isadora or Treadwell for Robinson? If no 3rd receiver can emerge at this stage, then can he at least better utilize Rudolph and Cook to take advantage of favorable matchups? Also, does he have any answers for inability to convert in short yardage situations? Not being able to pick up 1-yard with a good short yardage back like Murray is damning of both the OL and offense. Hopefully, Stefanski does well. I'd like to have some sort of consistency on offense.

He certainly can do no worse. If they waited until the offseason to make the move the Stefanski would likely have been given the job anyway and would have had a long opportunity next year to figure it out. I am guessing that if he shows no promise as am OC / playcaller in this last 3 weeks that the team will name somebody else in the offseason and we won't lose an entire season to find out...but if he does show promise we have this last month or so for him to get a little comfortable and give him some material to polish in the offseason. Of course there is always the chance that he will just get it...that it's in him and he will shine and the offense will come to life and the most perfect time of year....at least nobody has tape on him and won't know his tendencies this making the team harder to prepare for.
And for the love of God, stop lining up Murray 7 yards deep on 4th and 1. It has failed every time because it is a stupid, telegraphed, slow developing play that does not play to Murray’s strengths nor the offensive line. This needs to be a quick play with someone that doesn’t run so upright. The offensive line can’t hold their block for more than a half second. Where was Ham?
Some positivity: Lets hope we're on the verge of watching a bright young offensive mind energize this offense.
Maybe get a playoff spot and do some damage?
Jeebus, I gotta have some hope while the playoff math says it's still possible to make the dance.
