So the question is: why didn't they resign Cousins?

All teams tamper at the combine.  The reason they are looking into the bird teams is they blabbed about it publicly.  Atlanta was actually Kirk mentioning it at the presser.  Off to a great start, possibly costing his team a draft pick down the road.

As long as the Vikes can benefit is all that matters.

Either have rules or don't. The wink-wink shit is so stupid. If Minnesota gets something out of this, great. Then go ahead and change the rule....because its really dumb. But until then, I'd gladly take some comp for this and utilize in the Draft.

I could be wrong, but I don't think victims of tampering get anything. They typically just punish the offenders by taking away a draft pick.

Got it, thanks for the clarity. If that's the case, I REALLY don't care.

Kirko wanted a long-term relationship and commitment, Vikings wanted to speed date.

If he was that good in bed? That good of a cook? We wouldn't be having this discussion on their relationship ending.

I like Kirko and wish him and his family well. Not happy we didnt have a better contingency or a guy on board already. That I cannot forgive the Vikings for.

But I understand their moving on - didnt like how they broke-up though.

This was such an easy decision for Kirk and his family. Atlanta stepped up contractually AND Atlanta is where his wife and in-laws are from. He's got 2 sons that I'm quite certain are going to love seeing their grandparents every day and vice versa. I believe Kirk and his wife already have a home there to move into, bought it years ago. In watching his goodbye video, there seems to be very little emotion there about leaving the Vikings.

Yep. It was just really bad timing for the Vikings. I think any other year, Kirk probably stays. But this year Atlanta just happened to be the perfect destination for him, not just in football and financial terms but also for his family. Such is the Vikings luck.

I read that Kirk has slept in his father-in-law’s basement the last 5 offseasons while training there… $50m bonus should cover the new casa though!  Wink B)

I was at the point where I just didn't care. I didn't want to hear any more about it. Like just decide and move along. I am glad it's over and it was time. 6 years was plenty.
