Helluva game Kirk Cousins

Dink and dunk = sink and sunk.

Out offensive play calling is horrendus. Way too predictable. How many times have we seen 3rd and 5 and we throw a 3 yard pass and don't convert? Constant frustration from me with us constantly throwing the ball short of the sticks and failing. Then, when in two minute drill, our offense is so explosive. Turn Kirk loose for a game and see what happens. Zimmer likes to have control. He can't ever step on the neck of an opponent. Last coach we had that did was Denny Green.......I miss that wide open type offesne.
Pretty hard to argue with nearly 600 yards of offense against one of the NFL's best defenses in their house. But yeah, I have an assortment of gripes.

1. Throw more on 1st down
2. Run more on 2nd down
3. After a turnover in their side of the field, throw it in the end zone. First play.
4. After a big chunk run, throw it deep. First play. Don't let them catch their breath.
5. Identify momentum and use it
6. Go for a blocked kick every now and again. We always call the return. Always.
7. Ladies....

I like daggers.  After a turnover or big play, go for jugular.

But I agree, we put up 600 yards of offense and the constant complaint is that we are too conservative.  Or that Kirk isn't clutch, or is only good when the game is on the line, or whatever people see that they wanna see.

Doesn't Carolina have one of the better D-lines?  Our line smoked them in their house.  And Zimmer will never start a rookie over a vet, except when he does, on the road.  And young players never start over vets, except KJ 'doghouse' Osborn whose number was called twice in OT.  I get it, we are fanatics, we nitpick.  But get some new material once in a while.

I have to eat a bit of crow here. I've always liked Kirk, always wanted him to do well...but I never thought he was good enough to carry this team on his shoulders as an elite QB should. He's done that all year long so far. Kudos to him.

You know why? He's had some time to throw. Darrisaw is only going to solidify that.

Carolina does have an improving defense but to be fair they were missing their best piece - Shaq Thompson.

Even when he hasn't had time he's been able to side step or move around more-so than he has since I've seen him with the Vikings. That play where he got away from Brian Burns in the pocket to gain positive yards is a classic example of where in the past that was a guaranteed strip sack.

Now with an improving O-Line as you mentioned, he's as deadly as any other top tier QB in the game this year.

I saw some stat where he has thrown for 36 TDs and only 5 INTs in the last 10 games? Something like that, I might be getting the game amount wrong.

Those are elite numbers.

I saw that too. Mind boggling numbers. Once they all get on the same page, there should be no reason this offense can't be one of the very best in the league.

KC and Hunter are the 2 best players on the Vikings...

If he keeps playing like this? Expect a KC extension here.

Agree.  He's a top 5 QB right now and has been since week 7 last year.

We're 16th in 3rd down conversion so far this year.  Pretty much exactly where you'd expect a 3-3 team to be.

Interestingly enough.  We're 1st (best) in defensive 3rd down conversion.....

The plan was to improve the OL and give olde stone feet a fighting chance - he didnt have much of one before. Couple that with his own maturation and this is the caliber of play resulting since the latter part of last year.

He'll have a clunker or two, they all do. World will blow-up if he misses a bunch of games with Covid, skeptics will still ask when the chips are down will he fold like a cheap tent?

But I think (fingers crossed) its safe to say Cousins has settled into a new plateau of play.
