Gladney should never see daylight again let alone an nfl field.
Were you there? Please share the details, most of us have only read the accusations in the media and haven’t seen proof of his actions as of yet.
please spill the beans on what you know for certain.
I'm just going from memory, I thought when this first broke the media was reporting that there were witnesses and cell phone video. I may be wrong. I would be very happy to be wrong....if for no other reason than to know that a young man didn't do the shit he was accused of.
The tricky thing with cancel culture is that the accusers (not the alleged victim, but internet accusers) run free regardless of the outcome.
”Going from memory”, “I thought”, “I may be wrong”??? You had implied life without parole just a few posts ago, with zero evidence. Good thing you’re not a judge or even a night shift manager at Burger King.
Gladney may end up proven to be guilty, but your assumptions were baseless and unfair. Do you just not like the guy or do you spout nonsensical speculations as fact about everyone?
Dude is accused of 3rd degree assault. If guilty, it would be a misdemeanor and a year at best. But let’s just lock him away for life now and save the time & trouble of our legal system... ridiculous.
Hes facing 2 to 10 years and what he is accused of is disgusting behavior at best. And as we are on a message board and not in a court room, my recollection on the matter is not pertinent, and of course in real life his guilt or innocence will be based on presented facts and testimony. However any man that has to hit slap strangle and drag a woman by her hair because he is insecure isnt a man at all, and IF this is true, needs to be locked away, even if he plays football.
Guess accusations and fabricating some supporting “facts” is good enough.

If this account of the incident is true, I stand by my previous statements.

That account of the incident is "her" account. Not saying it's wrong; it's just hers. We don't know his account. We just know from his tweets that he thinks hers is not the truth.
So nothing changes. Still no video or witness mentioned. And I stand by my statement that without those, he'll probably be offered a plea to a lesser charge, meaning there's little chance he sees jail.

yeah, my bad on the witnesses thing, I cant find it but I was fairly certain that when this first broke it was reported as such, but ... and like I said, I really hope that she is lying or this is in some way just a gold digging thing, but its not unheard of to have guys lose their shit over this type of thing either.

Not unheard of at all. I can see it happening. But if I'm a defense attorney, here's what I focus on:
An arrest affidavit claimed he tried “… shoving [her] face toward her phone to try to use the phone’s Face ID to unlock,” and later “… pulling [her] by her hair trying to hold her still in order to get the Face ID to work.” The accuser then said Gladney began to strike her “… with closed fists causing pain in the side of her ribs, in the stomach and the back, and hitting her open hand across the head.” Then she told detectives the two returned to an apartment complex in Dallas, where she said Gladney “… began strangling [her] by the neck, which impeded her breathing for approximately five seconds,” and later “… grabbed [her] by her hair while the vehicle was still moving and dragged [her] across the ground.”
Just strikes me as odd that after all this violence, she gets back in the car and the two continue on their merry little way.

well I am sure she loved him and believed that they could work through it..... I hate to sound like I am blaming the victim in these matters, because I am not... but why in the world do victims often seem to think their abusers will change or suddenly become good people without some serious help?

You are on the outside looking in. I have worked with victims and survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence, and people say why don't they just leave. If there is a long-term relationship, the victim can be mentally beaten down and broken and may think the devil she knows is better than the devil she doesn't. I am not assuming that this is the situation but it is a possibility in regard to the mindset of the victim. If there are false allegations, there should be consequences for those as well.

Yep, there are a hundred different possibilities. And I myself have been in enough marital spats to know they can go from zero to 60 and back to zero in seconds flat.
So I'm just saying we only know one side of the story right now, and that if I was his defense attorney, her post-violence willingness to get back in the car is where I would start the questioning.
But i'm a designer and not a lawyer. Maybe someone who knows more about criminal law can chime in.
