We're talking bout human personalities, human interaction...Complex, fuzzy, gray stuff.

I agree its debatable as Sticky points out. But there's also lots of younger players on this team who are doing quite well. Cook, Matson, Kendricks, Hunter, O'Neil etc..

Might we consider pointing a finger @ Gray and not Zimsu???

We also have the broader discussion as to how this org (not just Zimmer) has handled younger, mercurial receivers. I think there have been some cultural divides there too.

But lets remind ourselves that Moss (unlike Diggs) did not want to be traded - that was all on the bastard Red McCombs and Gary (the ax) Woods.
Those younger players are all quiet guys. Cook is practically a shut in when he's not at the facility or doing charity work.

We talk seemingly every year about how there are games when Minnesota comes out flat as a pancake. Could it be because there aren't a lot of Rah Rah guys on the team and the ones who are generally don't seem to vibe well with the Coach?

Just something to think about to distract from not having much mullah left to sign anybody. Draft can't get here soon enough!

I think the team has absolutely wilted when the going gets tough. Since 76 for that matter.

The leaders on the team are not rah-rah guys. Dirty Harry, Kendricks, Barr, Hunter are all more quiet introverted types...EG plays that role but he's one foot outta here.

I did love Diggs' intensity and I'm sure as hell not happy he's gone.

What was the Vikings offer to Mac Alexander? We paid him just over $4 million over 4 years. He's making that in 1 season in Cincy (getting a $3 million year-to-year raise) and he gets to hit free agency again next offseason. What isn't desirable about that from a personal standpoint? He's coming off an injury and guaranteed money is hard to find.

I kinda think the fact that he's willing to take that kind of deal - on a team that just eliminated 1 of the outside CB spots he so eagerly desires - eliminates a lot of the desire to resign him. You want to pin it all on a dude who's focusing on 1 year deals tryin' to get paid? We're not exactly talking about an all-pro stud here, we're talking about a promising role player who might have been able to step up and fill suddenly gigantic holes. A dude who could have been paid $4+ mil for one season to blow his knee out again.

Who's knee got hurt because he was the only Starter that played in the meaningless Week 16 game. A 2nd Round Draft Pick. Who played his role, an important one by any single measure, better than the two 1st Round Outside CBs. A kid who was an Outside CB and a damn good one at one of the best schools in the country.

Let's not act like this is someone who is analogous to Kearse in any way. He was a Starter. A good one. Who got hurt playing in a meaningless game. That just took peanuts on order to leave the team.
