Saying he may sit out this year. Is that him saying, I will stay available for the Vikings until you truly find out if JJ is ready to start? Maybe through mini camps. Through TC. You guys truly evaluate JJ, and I will be here waiting.

listening to the nfn radio guys this morning I had the same feelings, they almost insinuated that the Vikings are going to evaluate JJM in spring/early summer OTAs and could come back to Rogers if they have any concerns about his readiness.
Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?

I also think they're going to be very patient about that. I think it's also why we're not hearing much about Flacco, who would factor into the comp pick formula, and more about Rodgers and Tannehill, who wouldn't.
I agree and feel the choice of the veteran will have as much to do with what he can do to help JJM in practice and while on the bench, as much as what he can do on the field if called into service. That's why I think Flacco or perhaps a backup QB on another roster are in play.

I think that is exactly the case. Exact feeling. JJ, we will give you every opportunity. Make the most of it. Is he ready to take this team over? YOu have a team that is built to pretty much compete with anyone. With this coming out, I am going to guess the talks went something like this.. JJ is our starter, if you beat him out, great. YOu have to earn the job, Aaron. Feeling I get anyways. JJ better come prepared at mini camp. I think he will. He is the type of player that will take on anything. The problem is, he is still super young.

I think we need a vet QB2 and then some ball of clay late in the draft for KOC to mold and develop. If Jalen Milroe could hit the barnside of a broad, he'd be a good choice, but Shough is probably the one I'd target. There's gotta be someone out there nobody is talking about. A backup with all the tools who never got an opportunity, like a Brady or a Brad Johnson.

Not a good option for us because he lacks experience. But if i was looking for a young QB in this draft, I would reach out to NE about Joe Milton who flashed some last season. Milton is stuck behind Maye, so he may be available to another team for the right compensation.

Well we are talking about a QB3 here. QB2 will be a vet. We just need a more toolsy guy than Rypien IMO. I like the Milton idea, but I hear they want a 3rd rounder for him.

But Milton would just be stuck behind McCarthy. NE will trade him to a team that he can be in the mix possibly at some point for QB1. Maybe a team this Draft that misses out on drafting a guy they want and look to Milton. But NE won't give him away although he's all physical ability and little else. Might make sense for NE to keep him another year. I'd rather Minnesota take a guy like Kyle McCord in the Draft later and work with that as a developmental guy.
