I dont think the doubts were about his game,   but more his ability to stay healthy,  I would like to see him play a bigger role for a few more games before I would erase those concerns,  he has shown that he has trouble getting off jams at the LOS due to his smaller stature,   but that can be alleviated with motion and not being on the LOS at the snap.
lol, of course you would. Easier than admitting you were wrong.
So you have no concerns about his durability and lack of size yet?  Let him take a couple months of hits that come from a larger role in O and see if he is still as sharp?  Do you not see him getting stood up at the LOS at times and not being able to get into his route on time for certain throws to be successful?

Hes a rookie,  gonna shine and gonna have learning moments,  but if you are convinced of his greatness then go ahead and book your tickets to canton for his enshrinement in 15 years.   I'm not saying he won't be good,  but his concerns are not erased 7 games into his rookie year with only 1 game of high production.

He's an inch taller the Tyreek Hill and only 10 pounds lighter.  He'll put muscle on these first couple years.
go look at both of their frames and tell me they are about the same.   Addison looks like he could get sent to the IR by a stiff breeze,  Hill looks like an MMA fighter.  I have never said he would bust,  simply questioned a frame like that being able to stay healthy in the league,  and questioning him being strong enough to be a full time WR in terms of run support and getting off press coverages.  He may be great,  but 1 big game doesnt alleviate those concerns just yet.
1 big game? He has 6 TDs on the year. That's double the next rookie WR. It's also 2nd in the NFL behind only Tyreek Hill. It ties the Vikings record for most TDs by a rookie in his first 7 games. The other is some guy named Randy. In fact, in the last 40 years, only 4 rookies have had 400+ yards and 6+ TDs in their first 7 games. Two are Vikings. Justin Jefferson is not one of them.
until last night he wasnt the focus of the passing game,  taking as many hits,  playing as many snaps,  getting involved in the run game.  I dont have the snap numbers on the season,  but last night was his biggest game to date in terms of expectations on his frame.  I know his stats are nice,  but they dont paint the whole picture,  last night was the first game that he got what I would call a full WR workload instead of just being a piece that was getting worked into the mix.  The KC game and the Chargers were he next two other closests games,  but even those I dont think he was asked to do a full workload like he was last night.  you are looking at it from a fantasy standpoint,  I am talking about the physical challenges that a player will experience as a full time player.  those reps, those routes, those hits, etc have a cumulative affect on a player,  I questioned how he would hold up,  and one big game alone isnt enough to alleviate my concerns.  big framed players get dinged,  it only stands to reason that smaller lighter framed players would wear down sooner.

As so many have eluded to, it wasnt necessarily the talent, it was a durability concern, and also all the holes on defense. Turned out good so far - Flores has dialed up the defense.

big winners against the 9ers was KC, OL, and the defense.  first “complete” game of the season
So....I'm just going to add this and not name names: it was more than just the durability. Some posters went off on how horrible it was for a variety of reasons and then made a big assumption when he was hurt in training camp that he was always going to be hurt. Others tried to point out his talent, that JJ was also hurt his rookie year and then was a machine, etc. Nope. KAM sucks and that was all they wanted to hear.

So just keep this in mind when I bring up Addison: I'm the dumbshit that SERIOUSLY doubted Jefferson was going to be a good pro. I thought he wasn't explosive, lacked speed, etc. So I'm not in the glass house casting stones, I've been wrong plenty.
What impressed me about Addison last night was the competitiveness, the fire.  The D stole that first INT from him and he came back and ripped the TD out of the arms of the same defender.  Sort of threw the guy to the ground and strolled a few yards for the TD.
The fire, yes. To see him return that favor later in the game was poetic justice.

But, man, for me it's the routes. Loved how KOC alerted the refs that Addison was going to run such a ridiculous route the defender would not be able to avoid holding him. And that's exactly what happened.

hes a perfect example of why the fascination with 40 times is so misleading,  I dont know what Addisons top end is,  but that isnt what gets him open and drawing those penalties,  its that short yardage burst and ability to change directions on a dime without scrubbing much speed.  its about impossible to guard him man if the OL can give Kirk enough time to allow Addison time to make a double move,  the defender may guess right on the first cut,  but second one is nearly impossible to predict and defend against a well timed and thrown ball.

Didn't see that in the highlights, but yes.  The ability of the scouts to find route runners in the last decade has led to Diggs (Thielen was not on the scouts) JJ and now Addison.

I never doubted his abilities, those were evident in his footage.

I worried about his size/frame, but also mentioned my hopes that age and NFL levels of training would pack some size onto him.

I'm still concerned, it's only week 7.

Oh, MB! He sucks! Can't you see how thin he is? We'll judge him in 4 years, not one day before dammit. Oh wait, we did judge him already in TC when he got hurt......

The silver lining for Jefferson being hurt, is that it forced Addison to jump into a bigger role. He's been playing really well for a rookie receiver, but last night he looked like a number one receiver. I'm sure defenses will be giving him a lot more attention going forward, but once Jefferson gets back, they'll have no choice but to give him more favorable matchups.

Now if they could just get their red zone offense going and getting the running game going even partly on track, then the offense could be really dangerous.

WR and DL

Vikings have an exemplary history with both.

How many teams would LOVE a J.Addison on the roster right now?
Been a long time since you could say that about Dline. Outside of hunter in the past decade, I see JAGS.

Tyler Lockett has a similar frame and Lockett missed one game his first eight seasons.

Dude weighs 173lbs and drives too fast....

He's  better than I  thought he'd be.

Especially with JJ being out. Impressive.

Addison reminds me a lot of Anthony Carter,
