This just in: Justin Fields is not good

Unlike previous generations, Caleb is probably going to have a lot of leverage on where he will or wont play. Hell, that goes for a lot of top players now, not just him.

I don't think so. Does he and his family think that the following year an amazing franchise is going to be selecting #1 overall as well? This isn't the NBA lottery Draft. Shit teams select #1 overall. I hear you, he's making NIL money now so its not as desperate. But at the same time, he knows how the NFL Draft works, right?

Really? I hope for our sake he truly sucks
Yeah, he doesn't suck. He's not as good as Rodgers, even '22 Rodgers, and he's probably not as good as his numbers right now. But he's seeing the field fairly well and protecting the ball. This is not Justin Fields.
What do you have against Justin Fields?  :p
Didn't see in Fields what others saw, even before he was drafted. He'll bounce back and have a handful of flash plays (probably against us LOL), seducing the Bears faithful...again. But the Bears are going to draft a QB in the spring. And as bad as the rest of that roster is, it might even be Caleb Williams
I think so too. and they may have another pick in the top 10 to trade or deal.
What are your thoughts on Drake Maye to Vikings?
Love to get Maye. Just don't think the Vikings are going to be in position to draft that high without a major trade up. I can see them trying though. A more likely scenario IMO is the Vikings trading up to the 8 to 12 area for the 3rd or 4th QB.

I hate that scenario. That's how you end up with a running back trying to play QB, like Fields. You may have said this already, but I also believe  the Vikings will begin acquiring draft capitol before the trade deadline if their season is mediocre or poor this year.
Love has the chance to become a good QB if he can clean up his accuracy issues, but that's hard to do. He doesn't appear to be another Rodgers and benefits from pretty good pass protection.

There was a pretty good QB who went in that range in 2017.

Yes, if the Vikings are 3-5 or worse by the 10/31 trade deadline, I could see them start to refocus on '24. I think it might have to also include a pretty significant key injury as well. Just something that seriously dims the playoff outlook.

Why would we need to trade up into the 8-12 range when we’ll already be picking there? (pain)

Ha! It's certainly possible. But seems pretty unlikely.

The chance to play with JJ might tempt him...  would be sweet if the Vikings could trade up to get him if he says no to Arizona (or whoever ends up #1).

Bryce Young is looking bad and he's got a bad cast around him.

I'd rather get Caleb to play with his two former teammates from USC (Addison and Blackmon).  :p
