Dalvin not interested in a pay cut
#31
Smart teams don't pay big $ to running backs, especially ones with major wear and tear.

But we aren't a smart team and ownership has figured out they can sell hope and nostalgia endlessly to this fan base in lieu of making tough decisions to produce a contender.

So, more Dalvin!  We love that guy, woohoo!

Read somewhere that this surgery could prevent the Vikings from trading Cook (if they so choose), since he wouldn't be able to pass a physical in time.

Exactly what I thought after reading this. Interesting time to fix issues from a 2019 injury.

good way of controlling where he ends up,  but this will pretty much guarantee he doesnt see the money that his current deal was supposed to pay out.

Well, we don't know for sure that the team didn't encourage the surgery...or even that Dalvin is not in their plans for '23.

I am not outraged by Cook's position; I just saw too many times this year where he cut right when he should have cut left.  Keep the following in mind:  [Image: 3dtgm5yr4kdx.png]
So if I am reading that right, signing Blount for 960,000 would be our best chance.

Seems doubtful that a trade would be likely given his salary.

I think his guaranteed money is all but gone, $2 milion in 2023 guaranteed salary left…
