I Love Our Picks, So Why Aren't I Happy? UPDATE- Am Happy

Love is purely a projection pick whereas Rodgers was a top 10 prospect who inexplicably fell.
This.  And in addition, Rodgers simply fell to the Packers.  For Love, they gave up a 4th to move up.

A small, perverse corner of my mind wants us to take another WR at 58 just to cockblock GB and send Rodgers right over the edge :p

Fun to read the anger and horror in this twitter thread...

Doesn't feel at all the same to me.
For one thing. Farve was just starting his, I'm getting ready to retire talk when they drafted Rodgers.
Another thing very different was as Rodgers was a top 5 projection. So as he  fell and when they took him I was like...oh f***. This time was more like WTF...lol.

The only similar feeling is at least they DO take a 1st rd QB BEFORE they need one. What a novel idea.

It appears that they have done a great job of the self-cockblock...

Green Bay is constantly "looking" for QBs in early rounds. And what has it gotten them?  Rodgers is different because some projected him to be the overall #1.  But, yes, they still took a QB when they didn't need one.  And after 30 years of HOF quarterback play, they have 2 trophies to show for it.  Doesn't seem like a great plan to me.
I mean they have two to out none so.....its working better then our change QB every year stratagey.

They won with Favre (whom they didn't draft)... and then they won one more.  During that time (since 2007), they only drafted a QB in the first 3 rounds once (Brohm).  So it's not like they have done anything different than most other teams.  That ONE TIME they had a potential #1 pick drop to them... and they took him.  Considering the context (Favre flirting with retirement), it's not like they have a "pattern" of trying to grab a top-flight QB every year.  So I'm really failing to see how anyone can defend what they did this year.  Anyone who thinks that the Packers are playing chess while everyone else is playing checkers... is going to have to explain it to me.
