I would prefer you focus on what policies Trump could do that would indicate helping the poor?  Attacking illegal drugs? Lowering drug prices?  Prison reform?

I know people want to smear Trump about this, and maybe there's new information that I'm not privy to because I don't really need to consume the media fear porn on a regular basis, but I'm under the impression that the US is pretty middle of the pack compared to other developed countries in the west, when you sort things by population.  I also don't think very many politicians of either party were ahead of Trump on this issue, and certainly none of the democratic presidential candidates were leading the way on the issue.  I think pretty much all the politicians have slid from their previous positions on the matter as this has developed, and mostly they've been bashing Trump more than offering wisdom or guidance in what our country should be doing.
