More Cryptic Tweets From Diggs

Well, since this is the new diva Diggs post, I'll put my opinion here.

Diggs didn't want to play with Cousins any more.  You can listen to the Vikings' talking head piece in PA and try to say it was because the Vikings are a rushing team, but that doesn't jive.  Let's look at some evidence.

Diggs was drafted by a running team, not a problem from Diggs for 3 years.  Then comes 2018, really the only year one would call the Vikings a passing team.  Both Diggs and Thielen start to have issues (also hadn't heard a peep from Thielen before this).  Both Diggs and Thielen continue their issues into 2019.

Diggs makes it clear he wants to be traded right after the Cousins extension gets announced.

But why stop there, let's check out the old Redskins' locker room in 2016.

"Kirk Cousins is not well liked by his wide receivers. Not at all. So the behind the scenes intel is they’re not big Kirk Cousins fans.”

“There is a consensus nationally that has been growing that Kirk Cousins not only shouldn’t be the guy long-term in Washington, but isn’t well liked,” said Schultz. “And you talk to people kind of around the league, and you start asking questions. His receivers, his playmakers — not only do they not like him, I don’t even know if they respect him. And that’s a real problem.”

So, I think it came down to Diggs or Cousins.  I personally would much rather have Diggs on the team then Cousins, but so be it.  It's the NFL and change is expected.

Good luck in Buffalo Diggs.  Thanks for all you did in a Vikings' uniform.

Diggs would get open and Cousins would check down. Diggs would get frustrated. Same thing happened with Thielen.
I have always felt Cousins was the main source of Diggs' frustrations, though I think Zimmer, insisting on a run based offense, also played a role.

Every Receiver is open on every route.  Oh and both Diggs and Thielen were in the Top 10 of targets (around 150 times) in 2018 when Diggs started to complain so I don't think Cousins checked down as much as you want to suggest.  Last year Diggs was targeted around 90 times and we defintley became a very improved run team but Diggs started having issues the year before so I can only imagine how many tantrums he had last year behind the scenes.  But at the end of the day every one can believe what they want despite all the reports that have come out since the trade from numerous sources both national and local.

Yep. If we want to crack the film on every game for every QB in the NFL, you'll find guys wide open that the QB missed. Tom Brady included.

Not to mention it's not about a receiver getting open,  it's about him getting open when the QB is looking at him in his read progression.  Countless times I've see many QBs looking at a receiver and then look a different direction  and find somebody open a release the ball just as receiver one gets open
We killed QBs that hold the ball to long or lock onto targets, well that was essentially what Diggs wants,  KC should have held out to check down until Diggs finally was coming  open on every pass play?

I have also watched Diggs live throw his hands up thinking he was as open without recognizing that he would have gotten killed by a safety if the ball had been thrown his way.  Good QBs don't throw that ball and hang their receivers out to dry.

Yes we all know QBs miss receivers all the time. And yes Diggs knows this as well. But let's not suggest that we know SO much more than Diggs does, that he doesn't know when there's a safety over the top or when the ball isn't designed to go to him. SMH.

We also shouldn't suggest we know more about the reasons Diggs was traded than Zimmer and Spielman.  I'm thinking they'd have some "behind the scenes" stories that we'd all love to hear.  I just think Diggs behavior must've been plenty bad when they turn a 5th rounder into a NFL star only to have to trade him in his prime.
Am I PO'd he's gone?  Yeah, but I don't blame the team.  I place it fully on Diggs, and I now think he's a selfish POS.  What the hell am I going to do with my Diggs shirt?  Maybe cut it up for tp while I'm in COVID-19 quarantine? B)

I think you are snacking yourself in the head to much and it's having an accumulating affect on your reading comprehension and logic.

I said I have watched him throw his little tantrum in person and know that a ball thrown at him would have gotten him lit up,  maybe after watching film he backs down,  but he obviously didnt know in that in that case he was in danger.  And that was before cousins.

And this is exactly why you're wrong. No one has ever argued that Diggs is blameless in this. But you're saying the Vikings are, which is ridiculous. There are many things the Vikings could've done to avoid this, including nothing at all.

MB, I think you really believe you
know how to handle the team better than the Vikings front office, and I know I don't.  Diggs
was nearly the face of the franchise after the "Miracle" playoff
win.  It was a huge decision with plenty of thoughts, discussions
and meetings before they'd ever decide getting rid of Diggs in his prime was
best for the team.

I think it's ridiculous for any
posters here (not just you) to say they could've handled the Diggs situation
better than Zim, RS, and the Wilfs when nobody here actually knows how bad
things were behind closed doors.  I'm just giving the benefit of the doubt to the Vikings FO as I truly believe Diggs really wanted out, and was being a huge disruptive DBag about it; much bigger than we know.

No one is saying they could've handled the Diggs situation better than the Vikings, least of all ME! I'm saying the Vikings could've handled it better. There's a difference. And I never saw the "DBag" that you saw. He sends out some cryptic (even funny) tweets and ya'll get yer panties in a kerfuffle. Was he upset he didn't get the ball more? Yeah. So? Did he cryptically angle for a trade? Yeah, probably. So? He's under contract. Get yer butt in camp and let's go after it.

But I'm done talking about his now. Not that I can't be dragged back into it. :-) It's over and it's time to start thinking about what we're going to do with the pick we got for him.
