Cousins is not the answer

I didn't see the turn over on he 1st play of the 2nd half...but I had a distinct feeling KC was the culprit...alas I was correct!

6 sacks and 40 yards rushing.  KC is the reason we lost undoubtedly.
The two fumbles didn't help...

Guys can say what they want, but I think the team lost faith in KC...there has to be talk in the locker room about what he's getting paid and what he produces...
I think that was evident last season when Thielen blew up at KC on the sideline.

I'm not saying this because of today.  I'm saying it based on his 10-10 record as a Viking anf his stint in Washington.  He's a .500 QB that looks good beating up on bad teams when he has plenty of time to throw, and shits the bed when he faces adversity.

Today he bailed out of clean pockets early.  He missed open WRs, held ball too long, and didn't pull the trigger when he should have and got crushed. And the fumbles are worse than Daunte's.

But he's been doing this his whole career, and Redskins let him walk for nothing.  Now we see why.

Vikings need to target QB early in 2020 draft.

He's got zero ability to reset...the anti-Chase...

Yeah.  I am done.

In games like this you need a Favre, not a Ponder.

KC sucks.

There's merit there, Ralphie. I just don't think Cousins is the type of guy to elevate anything when Minnesota plays good football teams. And if that's the case, the team took a big swing and missed on him so its time to plan for this exit after that 3rd year of his guaranteed contract this offseason in the Draft.

Nothing to be done now other than ride it out. His contract prohibits anything else.
Sticky, I am well aware of KC" s limitations overall.  But today the Bears whipped this "new and improved" OL like a red-headed step child.

It wasn't until the 4th quarter Stefanski went no huddle and quick passes to keep the rush off Kirk.  That is on the coaches not KC.

Nagy owned us today.
Umm that's the third time he has outcoached Zim.

Sorry boys.  Not jumping on the KC sucks bandwagon.  The play calling today has been abysmal.  Not seeing what is happening and finding a way to counter it is not on Kirk.

Add the brutal penalties and this one is on the guys wearing the headsets.
I've got one leg on the bandwagon.  But I still think there is more to KC's failures than meets the eye.  It seems like he never throws to a receiver unless the receiver is wide open.  That's on Zimmer for putting the fear of the turnover into him.  I can't imagine trying to "make plays", when you're always afraid.  Then there is the OL.  I used to be in the "Elf will be fine" camp.  Nope.  And Bradbury isn't exactly setting the world on fire... but he's a rookie.  Overall he's "OK".  But, against Chicago, we need better than OK.  Our run blocking scheme was demolished today... and our OL couldn't protect KC.  Of course, it didn't help that Cousins was spooked even when there wasn't anyone near him.  Then there's Diggs fumbling... and, overall, just getting out-coached and out-played.  Chicago is the better team.

Getting back to KC: I've tried to defend him... but I'm running out of excuses.  He really does look like the QB that everyone has said he was.  He can teach our first round draft pick (next year)... and then sail off to be the backup for someone else.

I'm torn.
Aaron Rodgers looked terrible against Chicago 3 weeks ago. Almost as bad as Kirk. They did the same thing to the Rams offense last year when that thing was unstoppable. The Bears D is ELITE.
Cousins played like crap but so did practically everyone on offense besides Dalvin. So I'm not putting this entire loss on Kirk.
That said, I definitely think we need to draft a QB this year. And it's very much up for debate whether you want the current regime making that selection. I want to see more this season before I slam the "fire everyone" button, but man losing all these big games is getting old.
