It appears you have to be "eligible" for Sunday Ticket streaming. And it appears I'm not.
NFL SUNDAYTICKET.TV service is only available to non-DIRECTV customers who live in select multi-dwelling unit buildings (apartments, condos, etc,) nationwide in the U.S. where DIRECTV service is not available, live in select areas within various metropolitan cities, live in a residence that has been verified as unable to receive DIRECTV satellite TV service due to obstructions blocking access to satellite signals, or are college students
I've had it for my house, but I've never had DirecTV here, not sure if they keep track of that. Just try to sign up for it. If they tell you no, find another way.
It's like the mafia. You can't just "leave." I really wish the NFL would break their contract with DTV and allow people to pay them directly for it. I'm guessing DTV pays the NFL more money than they make from Sunday Ticket because it incentivizes people to subscribe to their whole package. Otherwise, the NFL could just offer it independently. I'm sure eventually that will happen.

So, after the first time signing up, you have a user name/password that just stays with you whether you move or not. That may be my "loop hole".
However, there is a simple way to get around that address requirement, which may be a little deceitful. Just tested it on a neighbors address and it worked.
I mean, if you live in more than a single bedroom home, isn't it multi-dwelling?
Before you cut the cord, talk to a buddy that has the Sunday Ticket. Ask him for his DirecTV username and password. You can split the cost of the ticket or just pay for it outright. Download the Sunday Ticket app and put in username and pw. You’ll have streaming access to all games, just like if you were watching DTV. But, only one person can be signed into the app at any one time. You stream it and your buddy can watch it on the dish. This is how i do it in Wisconsin. I have a MoHu Sky 60 antenna, TiVo, and FireTv. You can also use SlingTV or something like it if you need to watch those channels....
I cut the cord a long time ago. I live in a very rural area and also got rid of the external antenna. For many years I could only get the occasional game. Now I have a external HD antenna recommended be MontanaTom on another thread. And I have local provider satellite internet.
Although I am 70-100 miles from any TV stations I get a couple of different Fox and CBS stations. When the Vikings aren't on any local stations, I switch to the internet and can sometimes get the Vikings on this website: http://watch.ustvnow.com/guide free for non-HD and some kind of charge for HD.
If a game is on ESPN or NFL network, I drive 50-100 miles to a bar or sometimes go without.
I also drive to 1 or 2 games a year, anywhere from 120-600 miles.
I dropped DirecTV 3 seasons ago. We have Wifi streaming services. I use SlingTV app as they are one of only 3 services that has NFL Network. I have some free promos from electronics purchases from Best Buy. Picture is good, all channels in HD. We can have 3 devices streaming simultaneously in our house, also includes DVR service. Regular price is $25/month for Sling Blue which has NFL Network. Downside to Sling - no local channels.
Also just signed up for DirecTV Now, which does include local channels. Right now they are running a special for 60 channels for 3 months for $10/month.
I also use NFL Game Pass for Vikings games. They aren't live, but they are available for viewing by Sunday evening. HD Quality feed, zero commercials, I watch a game in under 2 hours. $99 for all 16 game season. Love it. You can also watch games edited to just the plays and see every snap in under 45 minutes.
If you have good internet service I would use Slingtv or DirecTV Now as they have no contracts, cancel it anytime, and include DVR services through the cloud. No dishes, no hardware or boxes, no big bills. I dont get to see games broadcast live but it frees up my Sundays then I watch the game after dinner with no commercials. You pay $1700/yr for just TV bro, I pay about $400/yr. and use the extra cash to fly to MN for playoff games, so I was at US Bank to see Diggs and the Minneapolis Miracle in person ... best decisions I've made to feed my fandom.
For me personally, I would love to do it, but can't. We live in a rural area and the only internet speeds we get is DSL. Verizon is gearing up to utilize 5G instead of lines so we will see (who knows when this tech. is actually going to be available).
We have DTV with a basic package and spend $100 a month. The family actually watches a lot of the channels in that package so it is worth it to us.
Not sure if anyone has mentioned it already. For those that need to switch between devices, just get a Harmony remote. Set it up and just hit a button and all the actions needed to watch your content turns "on" easily.
Would love to do it, but just can't. Oh well, price of owning a business where people can get away from all the "hustle and bustle" of life.
It’s been a year since I switched things up at my house. I use Xfinity internet/cable that comes with local standard def channels as well as HBO. I use the channel apps on my Roku (3 of them) to watch in HD and HBOGO gives me that in HD.
I was using Playstation Vue for my other channels, but nobody was watching it so I cut that out for the summer. Which is the best part about cord cutting, no contracts to worry about.
I will probably go DirecTv Now in a couple of weeks because i can get it for $10 a month for 3 months.
We also have Netflix and Hulu. I watch a lot of stuff on Hulu.
I missed Sunday Ticket last season a little, but could usually find a stream of the game onYouTube.
I save about $120 a month over what I paid before.
I have found that Sports is the thing that pushes the cost up with TV. I only watch football, so it is a little easier for me.
Reading through this it sounds like there's big $$ to be saved, it also sounds like a hassle to me with all the different pieces that you have to jump to and from (either hardware and/or software). At a glance, it's not seamless enough for me, not yet.
And as Tbro said - you have to be deliberate on how you watch.
I'll look into it a lot more when I need a new TV or until someone makes it as easy as turning it on and saving $ along with personalization of what I want to see.
Good luck mb...Share your journey.
