He's flying in for his visit and he'll sign tomorrow, done deal. Minnesota obviously knew this was how it was going to down some time ago....all the smoke signals turned out true.
Giddy up. Let's rock and roll.
Guess when there is that much smoke, it isn't a screen, but actual fire.
Got that piece solved, everything else seems rather minor now.

In other words, "we're going to Minnesota. That's where Kirk has always wanted to go, and unless the Jets or whoever make a batshit crazy offer at the last minute, we probably won't leave town without signing the deal."
Now this is where all that cool stuff comes in handy. Years ago, I was never confident that the Vikings could seal the deal with anyone, but now, with that fancy new stadium, the state of the art practice facility, stable front office and coaching staff, a top notch supporting cast and culture, a winning history, and a bonkers fan base....no way he leaves.
Kirk Cousins once said that he wants to become the face of a franchise's history. If he can play in Minnesota for another 5 or 6 years, he has a good chance to make everyone forget about Fran Tarkenton and Daunte Culpepper.
Nothing 'likely' about it anymore:

And there it is. The Vikings will get their guy.

I guess the big question is... Are we going to give him a nicer office to study in than the cave he had in DC?

Just don't let the jets pull a winfield on us. Situation is much different, but nervous until we get him signed for sure.
As to being the face, if he brings home a championship, I will "like that!"

The "guarantee" thing really really really really bothers me. Anything happens to him, knee injury / back / shoulder we are screwed. Dumbest thing ever to guarantee the entire contract. And then there is the possibility that he sucks / is just average at best. We will be trapped in a brutal financial situation. He brings ZERO guarantees of excellent performance or health. You can say he has not been injured, but you could also say he is due to be injured. This has a huge possibililty of being the worst contract ever for the Vikings. I have a bad feeling about this guarantee.
