Caddyshack is very funny, as are the National Lampoon movies, but the genius of Mel Brooks and his ability to take on race relations, when "Blazing Saddles" was made, makes it a classic and is unique in comedy films.  No way that movie is made today.Blazing Saddles

Young Frankenstein
High Anxiety
Spaceballs

not really sure spaceballs fits in this conversation in terms of timeline... a decade is a long time,   caddyshack barely fits with the rest.
I included Spaceballs as just another example of Brooks' parody skills.  But Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein are innovative genius.

Stripes
Young Frankenstein
Blazing Saddles a distant fourth fifth
i have Blazing Saddles ahead of YF, but only because I havent seen YF... I think I am bachelor tomorrow night so maybe I will see if its on amazon or netflix and determine if that changes my rankings.
Wait, you haven't seen YF yet? Dude...
I'm not old like you... :p

Animal House is my favorite of those listed. Caddyshack and Stripes are good too.

Blazing Saddles.

But if we're just randomly thinking of comedies we love, I'd have to mention Tommy Boy.

No, no, no. Not tossing this back at me Sir Jimmy.

You broke a major dude rule and owe the board an apology. Including Nichelle, VG and PG...

Thats like asking what do I like more, Pizza, Hamburgers or Steak - just depends on my mood. All are great and will watch any of them when there on. WITH ONE EXCEPTION - Cady Shack and Blazing Saddles can ONLY be watched uncut - not the made for TV edited versions. Those remove ALL the good stuff!

Ha,  I have no idea what you are talking about.  I guess I'm just not old enough to get the joke. Remember I'm only in my mid 40s. Smile

Does knowing the entire Blazing Saddles script verbatim make it number one?  B)

Blazing Saddles by a mile.

I don't even find Caddyshack that smart or funny. Young Frankenstein was smart and funny, but not to the degree of Blazing Saddles. BS was just so incredibly irreverent and shocking for its time.

Omg yes, I absolutely love Tommy Boy. Sucks how both Belushi and Farley went out.
