Going on record, Teddy starts next week

No way Teddy starts Sunday against the Rams....but I think we can definitely debate how long Keenum's leash is for this game. The Rams are good, no doubt, but this is a home game. Need the best effort and to get a W. And to Greed's train of thought, don't underestimate how much Zimmer hated those garbage INTs in the 2nd half.
Well said.  Might be a bit of a knee jerk reaction but I think we were very lucky to escape with a win.  And Zim's locker room comment just drove that home.

Case has a desire to stick it to his old team.

Zim has a love affair for teddy, i think Case could play completely flawless and eventually he will get pulled. even though in my opinion they're the same player, and Teddy has way more questions then Case right now.

I think Keenum will want to go out and tear up the Rams D. This game has meaning for him, and I think Zimmer realizes that. We're in a win win situation with these two guys. And although Case fucked up toward the end of the game, I love his style. He's great.

the game against the Rams is going to go one of two ways.

case comes out firing like he did yesterday and its his game to win or lose

Case comes out flat or due to personal excitement, over excited and poor and we see Teddy take the field to start the second half.

That’s it. A Case win, he stays at starter, a bad first half and Teddy can win the job for the rest of the year.

You dont lose your job to injury, Zim knows this and he knows what he wants out of his QB, good but safe play. We have the OL, OC, and the weapons now that most QBs would do very well here, he wants the guy who won’t throw the game away

I think missing a few games due to injuries such as a twisted knee, cracked ribs or any other injury that keeps a quarterback out 3, 4 or up to 5,6 games is the normal rule.  But, in Teddy's case out a year and a half due to the kind of knee injury he had.  I don't think that rule applies.  Teddy is going to have to prove he capable of winning his job back and Case hasn't really made it that easy for him either.  Just my opinion though.

When you say that Teddy has more questions than Case, I
think that only really makes sense from a fans perspective who haven’t really
seen him do anything in 2 years.  But I
would imagine that a lot of those questions have been resolved by any person
that has seen them both in practice.
They’ll know how confident he looks on his leg, how mobile he is, how
good his deep accuracy is, how well he understands the scheme and playbook, and
how well he’s on the same page as his receivers.  I think the only thing they can’t really
simulate is how well he’ll respond to getting hit and having pressure bearing
down on him.

They also know how Bridgewater looks compared to Keenum.  In my mind, you wouldn’t be hearing things
like “Bridgewater will most likely start sometime this season” from players and
“Bridgewater is our quarterback of the future” from Zimmer (paraphrasing those
quotes) if he wasn’t very close to Keenum or exceeding him in practice.  I think reading between the lines, Bridgewater
looks like a better option to the coaching staff, and the only thing that will
keep him off the field is Keenum continuing to win.
I don't think our coaching staff is going to go full homer on Teddy if the evidence in practice is pointing in the other direction.

Agreed on the injury thing.  That has been proven false many times over even on shorter absences.

But I wonder if Teddy is proving he is the better QB?  We don't get to see it in practice like the coaches.  But Teddy has stayed mentally sharp, studying and taking mental reps.  So his understanding of the game has grown.  He has grown physically as well.

To me, the only thing holding him back would be rust.  His even keel, his ability to control the game and make good decisions put him above Keenum.  Keenum can get hot and I think the offensive play calling has been outstanding, setting him up for success.  But Teddy doesn't have that hot and cold streak.  He can play it tight and thenopen it up at the end of a game if needed.

They completely shut Case down at the end of this game.  After his second INT, he was barely allowed to throw.

I agree.  Nobody will know what Teddy's got until we actually see it in a live game.  I think Zim should put Teddy in when the game dictates it and a change is needed regardless if it's this week, next week or whenever.  As long as the team is winning, stick with Case.

looks like 4 passes after the 2 INTs, for a total of 17 yards.  So the entire 4th quarter, with us needing a score after they had pulled within 8.  Granted we wanted to pound the ball, run the clock, but we needed a score.  We settled for a 53 yard FG from Forbath.  Anyone think that was a gimme?  I was nervous as could be.
