Just going to say that everyone knows that Rick couldn’t pick QB’s. Look at his track record. How many QB’s have we went through trying to make a run for a superbowl?

I think that KOC was chosen because he was the shiny new thing, polar opposite of the jaded, resting bitch face, Zimmer. Pair that with the fact that someone in-house was painting a really ugly picture of Harbaugh based on personal animus, sprinkled in with the narrative that Harbaugh can't get along with management (according to Baalke with the 49er's), hadn't YET gotten it done at Michigan.
Harbaugh's a weird guy, but aren't all HC's? I think he's misunderstood, if not hated by the media, and some fans because he refuses to play their game. He comes off awkward as hell, but I think he has a core of people he trusts and everybody else can eff off. In the end, he can manage a football staff, has a vision and a plan, and has proven he can get it done on every level. Things KOC hasn't done.
Add in the rumor that his overbearing attitude was starting to be too much for the veterans on the team. But how come no other NFL team has jumped on the all mighty Harbaugh train up until this offseason? Weird if he is such a great NFL coaching candidate.

he may have been contacted and turned down other opportunities, if you are the mighty JH, do you take a job with a perennial shit show, or do you wait for a team with a little better pedigree to try and make your return to the NFL?

KOC was a dice roll, which I'd normally be okay with....but not at the expense of bringing in a proven commodity and winner like Harbaugh. Easier to bring in a fresh "yes" man with no prior experience. This is year 3 though for the new regime and its a put up or shut up offseason because we are falling behind in the division..
It was made very clear during the process once Kwesi was hired that his guy was Harbaugh. Hell he wasn't even mentioned as a legit candidate until after Kwesi was hired. Kwesi and Harbaugh worked together for two years in SF. And Harbaugh spoke glowingly of Kwesi even after he wasn't offered the job. Absolutely everything I read was that Harbaugh came in unprepared assuming that since he was "Kwesi's guy" the job was his. That rubbed ownership the wrong way. The irony of your comments is some of your other brethren in the Kwesi hate brigade shit on him this fall after Harbaugh was suspended. Saying that of course Kwesi would want to hire a cheater like Harbaugh. Goes to show ya, the guy cant do anything right with some of you.

I don't know anything about other posters saying Kwesi wanted to hire a cheater, but regardless Kwesi went with an unproven commodity over a proven (time and time again) commodity. I don't care if Harbaugh picked his nose and flung his boogers at Kwesi's desk for the entirety of the interview. They went with a guy who could absolutely be seen as "riding McVay's coattails." I don't have anything against KOC and think he has done some good things, but Harbaugh has literally won everywhere he has been and comes from a family tree featuring some of the best coaches in football. Is there any doubt Harbaugh would have won in Minnesota?

Jim Stapleton is not and has never been a minority owner of the Vikings. That has been debunked. Stapleton was part of Reggie Fowlers team that bid on the Vikings. He would have been a member on the board of directors had the Reggie deal not fell through. He did then assist the Wilfs but was never given any offical role after they took ownership.

The ONLY reason Harbaugh came here for an interview was his connection to and like for Kwesi. And Kwesi wanted him but the Wilf corporate committee led by Andrew Miller said no.
