On the biggest stage of their careers

I don't think last night's game is going to change their stocks much. Both QBs have sort of "artificially" risen to the top half of the 1st round due to mock drafts and all the QB-needy teams in the top 10.

Did the NFL actually have them that high? Not likely. So all you guys who were worried 6 QBs were going to go in the top 6 can now rest easy.
Fair enough...

MHJ is going to probably go top 5 and I dont know if there is a DL or OL rated that highly.

Everyone is going to over-react to last night. That said, some good points brought up in this thread

I actually liked some of what I saw of JJM. If he ends up a Viking, it has got to be with the intent he sits a year (2?) behind KC.

Many big boards have three WRs in the top 10. MHJ, Odunze and Nabers. Tackles Alt and Fashanu, along with TE Bowers seem to be on most big boards in the top 10. The DLs seem to fall in the 8-15 range. But that's just my sense after looking at a half dozen or so. But these early big boards are notoriously bad, especially at QB.

great analysis.
sorry, i didn’t know a full film breakdown was required for a statement of opinion
What you're missing is it gets in the way of their narrative that Cousins sucks. It gets hard to follow but the excuse wagon is now here for how Penix pissed down his leg last night.

Big ole swing and a miss there. I've been a pretty vocal KC supporter on this board and others. Feel free to pull a single disparageing quote from me on KC. I don't care to draft either guy in question, simply pointed out it's a simplistic point of view. Unless you have that list of franchise QB's and SB winning QB's who rose to the occasion in the natty.

Last night was a reality check for sure.  i got bored with both QB’s midway through the 2nd qtr.

Both will go first round, but i sure as hell dont see top 15 for either.

From what I’m hearing about our lust for Richardson, you would have to think Daniels is the trade the farm talent for us.

I think that game raised more questions than it answered

Nobody asked for my opinion, but having watched the regular season games, I think Penix put up consistent numbers and is much stronger (and far more consistent than JJM...not even close.  JJ should stay in school one more year).  JJ's consistency was...not consistent...look at his per game numbers, but a lot of that was probably Harbaugh game-planning and managing their competition.  Not a fan of Caleb Williams, nor Drake Maye nor Jayden Daniels.
I remain on the Bo Nix bandwagon.  Nix got significantly better each season.  I really like Nix's attitude, electing to play in the bowl game, whereas so many others did not.  Says volumes about the kid.  He's a leader.

yeah I have to agree, Cousins played much better in his championship game.
Penix will be a guy to take a hard pass on. You know, the guy you wanted to start his rookie year in the NFL, lol.

Well I have said that I  would be happy with any of the top 5 QBs. Penix and McCarthy were my two because I have always thought Williams and Maye would be gone. I also would be happy with Nix. Now do I think any of these could play well enough to win if they start as a rookie? Yes

Outside of Williams, Maye, and maybe Daniels....there's not one QB that should be starting next year. Not to say they can't be good eventually.  But if you're expecting an immediate return on anyone outside the top 3, you're going to be very disappointed

It's the shiny new toy effect. Some people are so desperate to pivot off KC that they dont care to critically analyze the reality of the situation when it comes to young QB's and what the likely outcome is for year one play. Lol, because Stroud, ONE QB in all of last years draft had an unworldly season thats enough for some to say it's just as likely MN stumbles upon a Stroud in the draft.
