No surprise but Ron Rivera fired too. What is surprising is that the Commanders group has hired former Vikings GM Rick Spielman to help with the coaching search.
you supposed Zimmer is waiting anxiously for his phone to ring upon hearing that news?

Hey Mike, Its Rick. Man, it feels like its been years and years since we've talked. Anyway, as you may have heard, we're looking for a head coach. Know anyone?

You forgot this part: "By the way, I'm fixing things here so I'll be the g.m. and I think we'd make a real dynamic duo!"

Heard this a month or so back. As a Husker fan there was a lot of speculation that the uncertainty around Smart bouncing to coach the Falcons was a big part of why UGA’s 5-star QB decommitted from them and flipped to Nebraska.

That would certainly make sense, although kind of surprised Raiola didn't pick Nebraska from the beginning. Huge get for the Huskers

Carroll is like the Energizer Bunny but he will be 73 years old at the beginning of this season. I'll bet Seattle has their eye on a younger guy they like and dont want to miss out on him.
