To burn through the good will. If this defense isn't rated in the low 20's and we finish behind the Lions in the division this year, his seat is should be red hot. He looks insanely out of touch. The organization doesn't look like it knows where it's going. Like Cleveland of the 80's bad.
His team went 13-4. He hired a great coach. He’s going to resign the best WR in the league. He made the 2nd best trade in Viking history when he got Hock

KAM hasn’t looked great in April to FANS, but he isn’t going anywhere.
Also, if Cine, Booth, and Evans are healthy, there will be 5 starters from the 2022 draft on week 1 2023 (Ingram and Asamoah).   Oh that's just awful.  And Addison at #2 WR.
First, it's a big if whether all 3 will be healthy starters, let alone productive. Also, if Cine, Booth and Evans are healthy starters we just wasted 2 higher picks this year on CB's with bigger needs at LBer, DT, depth at C, etc.  One on an undersized guy after getting rid of a proven Duke Shelley, supposedly for not being the right size in Flores' scheme. Asamoah, has done nothing yet, and is Addison really better than Osbourne?

Using your logic:
- if last years picks are all starters then we have build depth on the secondary… a good thing
- since you dont think they will all be starter so this years picks add competition and we hopefully get upgraded at that position and one less position to worry about….. a good thing
- if we had picked LB and the positions you prefered and last years players were not ready then we end up with two positions in need… a bad thing
- if we drafted LB etc and last years picks were all starters we will still be thin at both secondary and LB…. a bad thing.

lastly we still have free agency to upgrade certain spots.

I hope you see how this can go any direction? so I just trust the process

Blowing it up and rebuilding after RS got canned was obvious to anyone who has followed the NFL for more than 5 minutes. That’s what the Bears guy proposed and the Wilfs balked. Now they have picks and an up and coming QB and we have um… um…

I firmly believe KAM is hamstrung by the Wilfs.
Guess I need to follow the NFL for more than 5 minutes. So what the hell is this about? I've been in and out all day. What did I miss?
Kwesi did not pick the players they had on their boards for their fav team
But they did 10 draft simulations online and so and so never gets pucked till the 5th.

And the 2nd worst!
Second worst?

1. Herschel Walker2. Detroit 2022
Lol if you consider that the second worst trade you really need to get your emotions in check. It's really clouding your judgement.
last year he allowed the Lions to move up 20 spots in the first round for a handful of peanuts. Here's a chance for you to beat that blunder. Name one worse.
You're comparing apples to oranges. Lol you're crying about picks 1 year into their careers. The history is far from written with that draft.  Randy Moss to Oakland ring a bell? Sam Bradford?  Those are actual historical data points. Not over reactionary hyperbole.

...the best QB in the division?

So, the Vikings win 13 games and the Bears lose 14. Justin Fields broke NFL records for passing ineptitude, ranking last each of the last two seasons. But because he runs the ball well, they're tempted to keep him one more year (hopefully another after that), extending their 103 year search for a franchise QB. Meanwhile, they continue to draft like they're drunk.

Oh please, if only we could just be the Bears. LOL.

2nd best trade in Vikings History? How about Tarkenton, or Allen. Or dealing Harvin or Diggs? Hockenson is a TE and not a #1 or #2 focal point or weapon on the offense.

We needed a #2 WR threat. We didn’t have a #2 threat last year. This year we’ve got 2x #2s. It’ll be interesting to see who wins the job.

We needed warm bodies in the DB room. They drafted who they liked at the point they were available. They clearly value versatility in DBs.

Every recent analytical report says trade down so the former draft value charts are probably overvaluing higher picks right now.  I’ll happily agree we screwed the pooch on last years trade down.

Let it play out. You cant know what we’ve drafted before we actually see them on a field.

Besides the head scratcher Jay Ward pick, I thought Kwesi did well from a draft pick perspective. I don’t have an issue with Ward so much as I have an issue with where he took him. I expect he’ll be a safety and hope he takes over when Harrison retires.
His draft day trades have been abysmal. He doesn’t know how to negotiate in this venue and it’s hurting the team. He gives up too much and receives too little. I think that’s objectively measurable at this point.
With all that said, Addison will be an impact pick. His route running ability will give NFL defenders just as many fits as it did the college kids. Home run get after taking BPA in my opinion.
My favorite pick though is Mekhi Blackmon. He was insanely underrated during the pre-draft process beginning about college mid-season. His age and size are held against him despite plenty of good corners in the league his size.
From a college production standpoint he was elite this year in nearly every phase. He was significantly better than some of the names that went before him.
Missing 2 tackles and giving up 1 TD in a season in the PAC 12 is incredible. A QB rating in the 40’s - elite. I absolutely love this pick and see Antoine Winfield type of ability. He’ll have an adjustment period like all young corners, but I think he has a shot to see significant playing time.
One last thing with Blackmon is the view he is too “handsy”. I think he’ll get away with more in the NFL due to his smaller size. Watching tape he was right in WR’s faces like flies on…..you get it. He drew tons of offensive contact that is often let go in college but will draw offensive PI calls in the NFL.
All the rest of the picks were very good in my opinion. Jaren Hall can legit develop into an NFL starter. I don’t know if he will, but the necessary talent is there. He is very similar to Russell Wilson when he came out. He’s not as polished with his feet, but he can fix a lot of that.

His team?  Hardly,  his contributions to the team last year were largely non existent with the exception of Hock, who only joined the team mid season.  We aren't going to see kams team until this year at the soonest.  13-4  was largely still with ricks players.
using your logic….
Yet Rick’s players and Rick’s coach could not win 10 games and missed out if the playoffs two times in a row.
I wonder what changed?

Its also funny we have to wait two years to see Kwesi’s impact on the team when it’s time to give credit but we are very comfortable bashing him for a draft that is not even over or for last years draft.

Many point to Cine not contributing much in year one but I remember a certain Chad Greenway missing his rookie season. He turned out just fine. I am not saying Cine will be as successful or better than Chad or. that Kwesi is a draft guru. Just saying we should calm down.

It’s not like all GMs dont have hits and misses

Just saying…

What changed?  Offensive  Head coach for one,  it certainly wasn't due to the draft picks that kam made.

if you are uncomfortable with people being disappointed on a fan board... not sure what to tell you about that.  We have teams in our conference that were significantly better than ours last year,  and it doesn't look like we really have done anything much to close that gap.  Time will tell on KAM,  but the current trend isn't promising.  Its not like any of us can do anything about it but bitch when we aren't happy about the direction of a team we've followed for decades.

There were questions about kam in last years draft and those questions seem to remain unanswered.   He seems to be having a bit of a challenge with the draft itself.

Blackmon was my least favorite pick, but only because of the value. I knew that had to be a Mattison like pick (reach) because of how far we traded down, but still this was a consensus 5-6 rounder. I like the player though.

Roy and McBride were my favorite picks.

I agree, it is sort of difficult to compare. Randy Moss was bad. But we did get a first round pick and screwed it up. Sam Bradford did look bad and I didn't like that trade at the time, he played well when he played. The day we trade up 20 spots in the first round for what we got from the Lions is the day I will admit you are 100% correct and I was wrong.
