I can't help but wonder if he will get the same level of surgeon over there as he would in the US. Of course this isn't a torn ligament that he can fly around and see specialists, you likely basically get who ever the local hospital has available for thing like this.
I think that's best case scenario at this point. Greenway had an acl tear and limped off the field his rookie season. Cine's injury appeared much more gruesome and there's been no word on the exact injury is, just a lower leg issue that required immediate surgery. It sounds more like a Bridgewater type injury but for a guy who relies on speed and quick change of direction ability...that's not good.
Teddy had nerve damage from a knee injury, Cine has a broken leg, likely needed the surgery to place plates and pins, but nothing I've seen so far suggests it more than that. It's a long rehab, but it won't necessarily derail his career anymore than Greenways knee did 20 years ago.
Not sure how anyone is dogging Cine or his play when we haven't seen anything from the kid yet because of a nagging injury early put him behind the curve. He broke his ankle, I believe, which is a bad injury but he'll recover fully.

The NFL is a cold business. With all of the information we have right now, it looks like Cine is around an 85% bust. Maybe 95%… solely based on injuries. Hopefully he can overcome this and become a big time player for the Vikes. Rooting for him!
Really? 85-95% bust? You don't think you're overreacting just a bit? It's not really that unusual for a rookie, even a 1st rounder, even a top 10 pick, to not crack the starting lineup in his first 4 games.
Especially one who missed camp reps due to injury, especially one who faced a competition with an All Pro and a prized 2nd year player. Cine will be back.
Thanks for injecting some logic into the discussion guys. Can't believe some are writing off Cine so quickly... hope he heals up and comes back stronger than ever next year.
I will wait and see how his recovery goes, there is a lot that is still unknown. He is young and with the right mindset he could surprise people.
I look @ Greenway and it gives me hope for the kid...
Cine started on a damn good Dawg D and has such a high ceiling. I was looking forward to some 3 safety looks with him this year.
Just wishing him a full recovery at this point.

If it was a tib/fib, that is a brutal injury to come back from. Much different than a knee injury.

We tried to get really fucking cute draft day and it's turned out a bust.
Trying to get cute on draft day that resulted in shitty outcomes has happened before.
It's that this time it involved not 1, but 2 division rivals and that's what pisses me off.

Teddys knee wasnt just an ACL, and as we've seen with many players, nerve damage from a knee injury can and often is career ending. Yes the broken bones CAN be very severe or even career ending as well, but since we really dont know shit about how bad it is, other than requiring surgery, all this talk of him being a bust is completely baseless, and even so, a player getting hurt playing the game can hardly be considered a busted or blown pick, any guy taken could have easily suffered a similar outcome.
Who's calling him a BUST? If anything, the draft class is looking like a bust.
The pick was confusing to begin with, there was so much talent at the board at the time that could have helped.
I really like the player and his abilities but this has been a frustrating scenario for everyone involved. I feel for him as he deserved a shot to be a starter coming in as a key player in the best defense in the country.
