Dio's Holy Diver cover may be my favorite

Nice to see the younger generation appreciating the old nursery rhymes
Really good drummer.

Bucket list just booked:
Concert at Red Rocks Amphitheatre!!! Ever since I saw the video of U2 at Red Rocks in 1983 I added seeing a concert there onto my bucket list.
My wife and I really like Incubus (have seen a few times already) and was able to book Incubus at Red Rocks in October (31st anniversary) 12th row seats!! Very excited, I gave her them yesterday on Mother's Day so I have gifts covered for Mother's Day, October Bday and our Anniversary....plus I get to enjoy the gift just as much. The gift that keeps giving ![Smile Smile](https://vikefans.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.png)
Any tips from anyone who has been to Red Rocks are appreciated......
About 30 years ago, I left a pair of prescription RayBan Wayfarers at Red Rocks paying homage to the greatest concert ever filmed. So if you see them....
No tips other than bring a cooler. There's a lot of tailgating that happens in the lots. And it's a LOT cheaper than Red Rocks beer. And dress warm. October is typically nice in Colorado, but as that U2 concert in JUNE of '83 fully demonstrated, it's very unpredictable.
It's funnyu. I'm a music nut and have lived in Denver for 26 years and I've been to Red Rocks exactly once. Ryan Adams about 5 years ago. But it's an epic place to see a show and the sound is as about as perfect as you'll get in a live setting. Enjoy!!
So I'm going to interject just to have rotten tomatoes tossed my way. I absolutely love music. My wife and I both work from home when not traveling for business and we have a HEOS sound system throughout the house, outside by the pool, etc. Music is on from about 7:00 am until about 5:30 pm every day during the week. On the weekends, its on constantly even if we aren't home (the dog, of course). When we got out on Friday/Saturday nights, sometimes I'll tuck the wife into bed and head out by the pool with my wireless Crusher headphones and listen to music until about 1 or 2 am.
So the point being I really love music. Its such a mood enhancer. BUT.....I hate concerts. I want the music to sound exactly like I'm used to hearing it. No improvisations. I want to hear the clarity and depth. I know this is pure blasphemy to many music lovers and the reason they love going to concerts to begin with. Let the chucking begin.

OK, Let me get this right?
You like music?
Are you the guy that comes to family get-togethers with there own 1970's boombox and plays your favorite music the whole time without caring if any one else wants to actually speak to each other or God forbid ask to hear something other then Bruce? Just asking because if you are then you are my brother-in-law and I have just outed you as a closet Viking fan and not the lame Cowboy fan you project to the rest of the world. Welcome to Purple Rain/Pain Jerry ![Smile Smile](https://vikefans.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.png)

This is an UNpopular opinion haha. Love music. Love concerts. We have Sonos versus HEOS but similar-- music on constantly. A lot of our collection is live albums too haha which probably reeeally bother you. And I love watching concerts on youtube too.
Similar to what you're saying, I have some friends who love sports but wouldn't be caught dead in a stadium. Different strokes.

Ha ha, no I actually love the sports stadium experience. And here's the thing: if I hear a live version for the first time hearing a new song (or new to me), I'm completely fine. Much of Amy Winehouse's music I've heard recorded live and I can't listen to the studio album recordings now because I heard the other first. The best, most beautiful version of "Bridge over Troubled Waters" was a version I heard recorded live in a New York concert and hate the studio album version (heard the live version first). See, there's rules! :p

I do understand the not liking concerts side. I used to see a ton of bands back in the day. It was the thing to do, and honestly I’m glad I saw bands that I liked when they were in their prime.
But, I don’t like the hassle of getting to and from the venues. I live near Chicago so most shows are around there. It sucks driving in Illinois!
Also, the mix of the show makes or breaks the show. I saw Ozzy back in ‘92, Alice In Chains opened. AIC was infinitely better that day. One of the reasons being the sound guy had Ozzy and the band sounding like white noise. The best place to listen was in the restrooms.
I’ve seen Bob Dylan more than enough times that I don’t ever want to see him live again. One concert in particular, he’d be 3/4 of the way through the new arrangement of an old song and I’d go, “Oh, that’s what he’s singing”.
I went through some old videos of our kids a few years ago and in nearly every one there is music on in the background. We always had music playing. Now, I listen more to myself knowing that my wife and I have different tastes in music.

Love seeing live music, if it's in a small venue. Like 1st Ave in Mpls. Daughter wants me to take her to some all ages shows this summer. It's funny, we're 43 years apart and we have the same favorite band: Alvvays.
But the frustrating thing about those shows is that the headliner doesn't even take the stage until around 10:30, which is way past my bed time.
I play guitar and love live music. I haven't lived in Mpls. in a long time. But in the old days I would always try to get down to hear the Hoopsnakes at the Cabooze or check out bands at the joint, 5 corners, Blues saloon, or even famous Daves.
I still go to hear a lot of bands that come through the area in NE Nebraska, where I live. I just saw Indigenous a couple months ago, and they blew my ears off!
No current concerts planned, but I will probably go down to open mike night tonight to hear the noobs and the restless perform. Get some really bad and some really good performances, and it's always fun.
