NFL.com posted theor Day 2 Mock Draft and has the Vikings taking Logan Hall, John Metchie, and Jelani Woods. I'd be pretty happy with that.

A bit raw, but a beast. Grew up in Scotland playing soccer and track. 4.55 40 Very high motor, relentless. Learned a lot from Hutchinson. He really came into his own this past year with 11 sacks and 12 TFL's. Needs a bit of tweaking to expand his repertoire, but has all the tools. Plays well from a stand up position has long arms, 81" wingspan, show s great bend and contorts his body to get through bigger guys. He also sets the edge pretty well. Get him on the other side of Hunter and it would be hectic. Before the achilles at his pro day, was easily a top 15 pick. With the injury, might not see him until late season, but appears to be in line for full recovery.
Appreciate the breakdown. More important question, do you believe in him and do you think he would be worth the pick? I try to be as unbias as possible with Hawkeyes (hated drafting Nate Stanley and ISM) so give us your opinion there.

I'm the same with Michigan guys unless I'm talking about O-line where usually the reputation and scouting is legit. Wasn't thrilled when we picked Metellus, or Gedeon. I honestly think Ojabo could be a better Frank Clark who isn't a POS. Would be interesting to see how they could use him occasionally dropping into zones. Of course all this is dependent on what the med. reports are.

They've done all the work on him and have met with him on multiple occasions. That was all done under Spielman's direction however.
My best feel based on what I've been hearing is they go Booth or Gordon but would be open to a trade down if a team wanted to come up for Willis or Ridder. I don't think they're looking to trade down like they were in the 1st however so you'd need to convince them to move out of the pick.
I will end with this on Willis - Unless you are fully invested in Kirk long-term or are ok with trading multiple 1sts at some point to get QB, this is the highest upside you're going to find. When it comes to QBs, bet on tools, its how you eventually get it right. He needs time but he has the personality, is smart, and he would immediately be a top 3 rushing QB in the league with no passing development whatsoever.

If they do go Willis with our second round pick, should we expect them to start working the phones in an attempt to move Kellen Mond?

His upside is enormous. Fastest QB I think I've seen since Mike Vick. Great arm too. Accurate. Smart. 32 Wonderlic (for comp, Ridder 19, Corral 15, Pickett 17). You have to teach him how to play in the pocket, but you'd have two years to do that. In the meantime, you could have a Taysom Hill type weapon you could bring in situationally.
Probably not a positive for this crowd, but I know Spielman is high on Willis.

They should be making those call regardless as it could build a nice smokescreen and get better offers for pick 34. Imagine if you want Willis and you hear the Vikings are shopping Mond, doesn't that make you think about trading up and offering more. It is a perfect way to build a market for a trade.
I’d be so excited if we took Willis but I haven’t let it enter into my mind as a possibility ever since we extended Kirk. Don’t give me hope now guys cmon.
