I'll want in on that Zimmer gone pie too... :p

Much as I want to move on from this era, I dont see the Wilf's pulling that trigger this season

Vikings need a 3t as badly as a road grader on IOL

Yep. A Hunter-Pierce-High pick 3T- Wonnum D-line would be a complete 180 degree change in effectiveness and impact for the whole defense. O-line is also as strong a need.

Hunter and Pierce will be wild cards for the defense.  How effective will Hunter be after the "tweek" surgery?  How effective will Pierce be after sitting out an entire season?

It's a pretty good chance Zimmer will be back next season, he already has his scapegoat on staff for this season in Capers.  What again did he really bring to the defense?

The offensive play calling has to change.  On 4th and 1 from their own 35 you knew without a doubt it would be Cook up the middle and no surprise the Bears knew it as well.

Has the Viking defense ever been as bad on 3rd down before?  They couldn't make a stop all game until late in the 4th.

Running on 4th down inside your own 35 yd line with llayiffs still in the balance. Stupid. We were lucky to swap FG’s but we wasted half a quarter on it.

If we lose. And do not make the playoffs zimmer is gone. You can pretty much bank on that.
I'd be as thrilled as you if they dumped Zimmer but what makes you so confident?  I see this stodgy, inept ownership as totally satisfied with perpetual mediocrity.   They don't change until their hand is forced.

Baby DB's, No Kendricks/Barr and maybe the worst Viking DL since Duck White, Randy Holloway, Mullaney and Sutherland.

This is an historically bad Viking DL.

They got to move away from this archaic run heavy offense too...I love me some Dalvin Cook, but you gotta lotta good players on O who need to touch the ball. Budding superstars in JJ and ISJ.

Zimmer's reign has been the classic definition of mediocrity and inconsistency. Playoff then no playoff, great game followed by really bad games.
There is a pattern for all to see. I am not sure how this changes but one thing is needed... change and major change in terms of direction and consistency.

I will take that wager.
I think you'll lose Mike.
I don’t. They were going to fire him last year but decided jot to after the N.O. win.

I think Zim has also worn out his schtick with the players too. But that I have only heard from a less reliable source.

Mike, I hope you are right but I am also doubtful. I suspect that was true about last year but I think they were interested in keeping Stefanski. Now, who would they want instead of Zimmer? Too often, coaches are fired when they have failed utterly and the owners start a search because they didn't have a replacement in mind before firing the old coach...it would be far better to have someone in mind.

If he leaves, it's because the Wilfs have figured out the every-other-year cycle Zimmer will perpetually follow.

This, on all three counts. I think this is where the "fake tough" I was talking about plays a part. "We're just going to ram it down their throats. If we don't get it we just don't want it enough!" OK, coach, this sounds great and all, but you might want to consider you're asking your smallish, wide zone "move" offensive line to play power against the strength of the Bears' defense, particularly 320 lb Hicks and 350 lb Jenkins. Good luck with that.

99% sure that is on Kubiak who (IMO) has been a disappointment, even with Cook in the Pro Bowl.

Watching that KC/Saints game last night? With Reid and Payton calling plays? Makes watching the Vikings offense look like the 1962 Packer offense.
