Green Bay is constantly "looking" for QBs in early rounds. And what has it gotten them?  Rodgers is different because some projected him to be the overall #1.  But, yes, they still took a QB when they didn't need one.  And after 30 years of HOF quarterback play, they have 2 trophies to show for it.  Doesn't seem like a great plan to me.
They have been far more relevant than the Vikings in that time period though. And have at least won a few super bowls.
Yeah 2 trophies sounds pretty damn good to me...
It's just frustrating having the overall superior roster by far most seasons, but GB has the trophies. In my opinion that's largely because of their QB play.
But like I said above, I'm feeling better after sleeping it off. Seeing GB pick the guy I wanted MIN to pick hurt. I threw a 12 hour pity party. And now I'm mostly over it. Screw the Pack!
I think for me to get excited again the team will need a new coach and GM. Hopefully an offensive and QB guru, and understands the value of the Lines, not 1st round picks at every db position.

2 trophies in 30 years is twice as good as an average team.

@pattersaur Sorry dude, thought the op was from Suncoast.

But still...

"Hey kids, did you enjoy your presents? Good. Grandma died last night"
Haha yeah I get it. I am happy. And I'm more focused on the positives today. It's just annoying to see the rich neighbor kid get the toy I wanted. But hey, stuff like this builds character!
Lotta good DL guys out there and a couple strong OL prospects if MIN moves up. Tonight will be fun.

I wasn't surprised by the pick because they were interested in Lock last year, also because they plan ahead. It is what it is. Time will tell whether or not it works. I am happy with the Vikings picks. Way to go Philly lol.

Love is purely a projection pick whereas Rodgers was a top 10 prospect who inexplicably fell.
When I watched Love I saw Blake Bortles all over again. He’s a big guy, big arm, athletic and looks the part. However, his actual play leaves a lot to be desired. His accuracy can be bizarrely inconsistent. He’ll make a great throw one minute and a “what the hell was he looking at” the next. Many have said his poor play this year was due to losing so many players last year. There’s probably some merit to this, but it doesn’t explain the poor decision making which resulted in 17 interceptions.
From a personal perspective, I really like Love. I like his personality and his competitive drive. He seems like a really great kid to me. He just has a long way to go. He’s going to an ideal situation. The Vikings would have been an ideal situation. He would have made a solid 2nd round pick for someone, but the risk never would have justified a 1st rounder in my opinion.
My point is, this is not the Packers drafting Aaron Rodger late in the first when it was long past a no brainer. This is a fairly high risk pick based solely on potential and 2018 performance.

Holly crap:

Go to youtube and watch Jordon Love highlights.  Then type in Jordon Love interceptions.  This guy is never going to be a starting NFL QB - book it danno.

On his "highlight" video of about 25 throws there about 4 or 5 NFL throws.  Then about 5 or 6 where the WR bails him out.  3 or 4 underthrows.  4 or 5 completed becuase CB play was very subpar based on competition level.  He lifts his back foot a lot and also swings his back foot or wide stance/fade backs on many others - basically bad form.  Lastly, his OL gave him rediculous time so again they must have been a pretty good OL for the competition level.

Then watch the interceptions low lights which I think he threw more of those then TD's or about the same (not looking up).  His throws to the outside are late and I think I saw 4 of those throws returned for TD's.  He locks onto his target on many of the Int's and underthrows on a few others.

I have no idea why this guy would be a pick in the first 5 rounds.  He has prototypical size and a strong arm if his mechanics are corrected.  But then he also needs work on reading a defense, accuracy, etc  basically everything!!!

Also, for a guy who is a great athlete I don't see any impressive scrambling or run plays.

I am thrilled the Packers drafted him at all nevermind move up in the 1st round - really funny.  Then read the Packer fan comments under the Interception video it will make your day.
