I'm not even sure what to say about this game, but....

I don't  know why people are mad at the refs. We had every chance to win the game despite the refs.
Blame Kirk and to some extent the play call at the GB 10. The Vikings don't have it in them to win a game when it matters.

I'm not going to try and put lipstick on this pig, but I will say there was some good to come out of this game.  The "D" made the adjustments they needed to; I just wish it would have happened sooner.  We have a hell of a 1-2 punch at RB, and Cook is the fricken man.  The biggest thing to me though, is the team didn't quit.  When it was 21-0 I thought for sure it was going to be a blow out, and I think in years past it would have been.

Diggs had a weird day to me.  There were a couple of plays where he could have blocked, but didn't make an attempt.  Kicking will always be our heel, just like the QB position.  Cousin has the talent, but man he crumbles sometimes.  As much as Rhodes has Juilo's number, Adams has his.

Get this one out of the way early.  No reason to jump ship yet, but man I hate everything about not beating the Pack.
Still not 100%??? I thought he was going to miss last week, but didnt. Then again, look at his stat line.

When assigning blame Let's not forget the defense spotting Rodgers 21 to start the game.  No excuse for being that unprepared for a game like this.  Cousins will take almost all the heat, but dammit when the D is such and slow starter the game plan goes out the window.
Yes, and many will cite the adjustments that led to a second half shutout - but why does this defense frequently play badly to start a game and have to adjust and catch up after we fall behind? Can't our coaches prepare for a team before Sunday?
This game just seems like too many familiar Vikings problems: disappointing quarterback play, kicking failures, and a talented defensive unit that nonetheless underplays for significant chunks.

It was a good comeback.

Green Bay looks legit.  Could have been a win.  I think we are a good team regardless.

My question is you are on the last play of the first half and you need 2 scores to take the lead.   You get the ball to start the second half why not take an shot. Worst thing that could happen is a interception.  Then to end the game you try some BS short throw trickery that had a lower chance of working.

This was Green Bay's 2nd game with a brand new coach and offensive scheme...  the 1st quarter is what it is, I'm damn happy that the Vikings stuck with their game plan, the running game and didn't panic.  All the while making adjustments on defense and playing a hell of a game after getting shocked.

I've been a supporter of Cousins from day one, even though my sense makes me think he isn't a winner.  But I sure lost much of what support I do have left of him after that INT.

There's a lot of football left and I have confidence they can shake this game off, but can Cousins really lead this team to win?

That's more accurate, right?

I definitely blame Cousins for flushing an opportunity to win, but a lot of people are forgiving the defense and Zimmer because they made adjustments and shut down the Packers for the last three quarters. Problem is, the first quarter of a game is not preseason, those points stay on the board, and the pattern of the Vikings playing poorly for the first quarter or half and then making adjustments is a pretty common one. If you want to win by slowing down the game with your own running offense, that's workable, but your defense has to slow and stifle opponents for an ENTIRE game.
Zimmer's defense doesn't live up to the Buddy Ryan / Wade Philips level of a unit that takes control of games from the starting gun and sets the tone. At its best it is very good but has lapses of ineffectiveness. That's why he keeps complaining that he needs the offense to provide 20 or 21 points - or maybe it's going to be 24 now?

That was another situation I wondered about. Maybe they were thinking about not throwing an interception. But I think it would have been a good time to either take a shot or try to get in field goal range.

Well, at least it wasn't in primetime, so his ridiculously bad winning percentage in THOSE game didn't get any worse.
I'm surprised that fans are, well, surprised, Cousins is a .500 QB. Time to accept it.
Well the Vikings are .500 now. And Cousins did lose to a team with a winning record once again, so he's added to that total. But evidently that is a meaningless stat.!

Setting aside the INT (and all-round below-average play) from Cousins... I don't think that Stephanski  is getting enough heat for his STUPID play-call on first and goal.  We had just moved the ball- by running it- down the field: methodically and efficiently.  The Packers were tired... and time was winding down. The right call would've been to call a run.  I can understand how the coach might have thought that we'd catch them off-guard for an "easy" TD off of a play-action pass.  BUT... why call for a bootleg pass?  GB had been snuffing that play out ALL DAY!!!  Why would you think that the 5th time (or whatever it was) would be the charm?  It was NEVER open (or, if it was, Cousins never had the time to set up and complete the pass).  If you want to call for a play-action pass, fine (I guess).  But don't call the one play that hadn't worked all day!!!
