His nickname is the cockroach for a reason. Every year, people expect him to be cut, but he just never dies. He's not a flashy player, but he's a good punt returner, plays well on the coverage unit, and they trust him enough at corner to mix him in as a 4th or 5th corner. Ever since Sherels has been the punt returner, I only have seen just once that he muffed a punt. He dropped it and then fell on it. I can't remember him missing a catch, punt nor kickoff. He has done a few of those too.

Not that surprising. Beebe became a fan darling mainly from the winning td catch, that to be honest, could have been made by anyone. Don't forget that Zylstra made a game-sealing td catch on Thursday. Both were against the 'bad players.' Beebe's a little guy, smaller than our running backs and unlikely to be used much at all. Zylstra was always ahead of Beebe on the depth chart even with limited opportunities. Although it's CFL, he does have professional experience and excelled to be a CFL all-star leading the league in yards by a large margin. Beebe is a fun underdog to cheer for and he'll play hard, but it is what it is.

Beebe seemed to be a type of receiver that we haven't had for a while. He seemed similar to some of the undersized players that the Patriots utilized in the slot and I thought he'd bring some different looks as a complimentary player. He also has punt return ability that made me think, he could potentially beat out Sherels, which didn't happen. We'll need to wait and see on Zylstra. Excelling at the CFL is nice, but still an uphill battle. Size wasn't too big of a concern for me, since we already have some bigger receivers in Thielen and Treadwell, so I was more intrigued by players who could bring something different to the table. I certainly hope that Zylstra can step up and play well, he just wasn't a player I focused on.

I added the "white" part because of what the Power Trip makes fun of all the time with analysts always comparing white players of that sort to good white players at the position. I have a feeling that Thielen is going to be running a lot from the slot this season so we're set there.
The 5 RB's are really 4 and Ham at FB.
Maybe Beebe was the last man out to make room for Hill or Sherels.
That LB group scares me. Kendricks or Barr goes down we're screwed.
Also interesting to me is that our D since last season let go it's 3 oldest players (Tom Johnson, Robison, Newman) to get much younger. Richardson is 6 years younger than Johnson, Weatherly 10 years younger than BR and Alexander 15 (!) younger than Newman. Even Iloka is a smidge (2 1/2 years) younger than Sendejo and waiting in the wings (or possibly hovering overhead).

Haha, I am sure there are people referring to him as "sneaky fast," because he's white. As for Beebe, I legitimately do think he fits the profile of small, quick, slot receivers who have excelled in New England's offense. No clue if he's a poor man's version of that or if can develop into a legitimate NFL receiver, but he is an intriguing prospect that I wanted to hold onto as a 5th or 6th receiver. We'll just need to wait and see if he makes it to the Practice Squad or gets poached by another team.
I think Beebe has a shot at the PS. I didnt think he had any shot at the roster itself. Nothing against him as I like his moxy but it’s tough to make it as a FA and tough being undersized. I do definately think he has a future in the league. He has good speed and quickness to belong in the league. I know we didn’t get to see a lot of Zylstra but I personally like what I see. I’d like to see Weineke make PS. Personally, I think his hands and fight for the ball is very good. I’d strongly recommend developing him as a TE. A good 20 pounds of muscle and a little extra and he’s there. If he can maintain his speed he could have high upside potential. I don’t think Roc would have cleared and he may also offer a limited roll as a WR or slot guy. Seems to have good hands and is great in the open field. I see a number of guys with multi role flexibility. One thing I always liked about BRob, could play in or out. Sad he’s gone.
Keeping Roc to me means they are afraid he'd get claimed before PS signings, and still may have a chance to use him as trade bait for O lineman.
There are probably still some rosters moves about to be made...Sunday will be interesting.
