its ego...100% him thinking about his legacy.   we know he has no financial pride or he wouldnt have walked away from the mortgage in minny.   i doubt his financial responsibilities to his kids are a major driving point for him either.

I honestly don't know of a team that would be interested. Seems like AZ is the place where aging vets go to end their careers.Must be something about the demographic. Where do you go from there?
its a retirement area.   signing the old names that the retirement folks recognize from their youth is how they sell tickets down there...  B)

Hard to believe Frank Gore is that far ahead of him. Classic turtle vs. the hare scenario.

Remember when people were mocked for predicting this kind of finish when he was in his prime?

Barry was magnificent...So was Simms before he busted up his knee. Detroit has had a couple of very good tail-backs over the decades.

Volume stats don't tell the story very accurately.   Gore isn't even top 20 in all time rush yards/game, but AD is 4th and he and Bell are the only active guys on the list:

Who, just a few carries away, wouldn’t wan’t to brag
about having more yards than Jim Brown ?
& this country loves it’s Top 10 lists !

& then there’s this...
~~What Peterson had just accomplished didn't sink in until that night, when he was back home, lying down and relaxing. That's when he began to take in his historic day.
"I was like, 'Wow, I just set a record,'" Peterson said. "My whole thing was, I could've got 300. Like, 296 was cool but 300 sounds a lot better”

I'll always appreciate AD for the excitement he gave us all those years for the Vikings.  That said he's probably looking for a job. Any job in thr NFL. He's on the hook for many years to his many kids and their mamas.  Sad way to end a fine career.
