Im not buying it.  Von Miller and one other Denver player for sure were all over social media saying how Cousins would put them over the top to get back to the super bowl.  Unless Elway figured they would never be able to pay the 25-30 million that it was thought it would take to get him so they SETTLED for Keenum.  No way did a former strong armed SB winning QB pass on a strong armed pro bowl QB that has thrown for over 4000 yards the last 3 seasons for a career backup who had one great season in his career.  They are getting a great, classy, person who is a great teamate and locker room guy, but being a great guy doesnt win football games.

During a hastily called press conference today, John Elway doubled down on comments made yesterday before going off prompter and saying, among other things that...

”Ringo was the most talented Beatle”
”A burger from Jack in the Box is about the same as In & Out”
“Hillary ran a great campaign”
“Silver will soon be a more precious element than Gold”

And how he loves it when his wife eats all the m&m’s from the trail mix bag.

Hey Horseface...wake up! I want to fill you in on what happened while you were sleeping through your 5-11 season.

First of all, not to rub it in, but we went 13-3. And the guy you wanted to fix all your problems? He's our starting QB. What's more, our backup last year is now your starter and your starter last year is now our backup. And when you pull your britches up I have some more bad news. Remember that undrafted QB you struck gold with last year? Yeah, he's ours too.

I know it's not fair. It's not fair that a 13-3 team should be able to bend over a 5-11 team like that. What would Pete Rozelle say? But trust me, that's not your biggest worry....

For years, Rick Spielman used the Browns as his own personal play toy. I suspect he's grown tired of them because I see he's spending a lot of time with you now. That's not a good sign, John. Your proudest moment ("this....is for John") will now become your worst recurring nightmare. Getting bent over in free agency...  "This...is for John." Telephone rings in the draft room. "This...is for John."
