Question: Can we still sign Barr, Kendricks Hunter and Diggs?

I don't suppose we could save any money by cutting Treadwell...

Just sayin'

It seems like there were a few articles regarding "keeping the band together" despite Cousins' projected contract, so I think the FO has a plan.

Minnesota has accomplished little beyond heartbreak with our recent run of inexpensive QBs, so this was an obvious gamble that would be taken.  The fact remains that Cousins put up years of impressive numbers even while the Redskins were typically schizophrenic...and he'll be on a better team for the next few years (at least).  I don't know that he'll still be in the mid-to-high 4000+ yard club every season-we're more balanced than Washington-but the coaching and schemes should offer him huge opportunity.

If not, well...the coaches are gonna be on very hot seats.  The D, the skill players on O, and the high-dollar QB all bring massive expectations.

Look at the S. Watkins deal ($34 million the first 2 years basically all guaranteed) Then consider what it's going to take to keep Diggs here. (assuming he's a top 5-10 WR)  Signing Cousins has nothing to do with being able to fit our other guys in the cap, with crazy deals like that being dished out.  That Sammy deal may have sealed the deal all on its own.  There is NO WAY I'm paying Diggs 17 million a year, as much as I like him.  Production is not anywhere close to that kind of a payday.  8-10 million, sure.  17 million, good luck wherever it is you wind up.

Absolutely, Geoff layed it out a while back. Don’t forget the cap has been increasing an average of 10mil per year. Extend Barr now, lowering his cap number this year. Re-sign one of the others & we should have a surprising amount of cap space next season as well.

we could of signed a cheaper qb and get richardson/suh and probably tyrann mathieu. maybe even one of the top lineman instead of one these d lineman.

They'll have no issue resigning their core talent if they actually want to retain them all. If you really want to get into the nitty gritty they actually have room to add another player like Sheldon Richardson if they want to.

Didnt he say over 26 million to Cousins and the Vikes would have a hard time making it work without letting some others walk?
