Josh Rosen Says He'd Rather Be Lower Pick on 'Right Team' Than Higher Pick

In recent history, look at all the "experts" who said Johnny F****** Football was a sure-thing-can't-miss-guaranteed-1st-round-overall-#1-pick.  How much influence do these geniuses have on the war rooms around the NFL?

Yes, impossible to answer completely, but many of these picks were questionable even before they were drafted. For example, about Johnny Manziel, I said before the draft that "in three years he'll be playing in Canada." Out of the NFL. About Justin Gilbert (8th overall pick) I said: "He scares me. From the neck down, I think he's a top 10 pick. But I don't like what's in his head. He's inconsistent, isn't physical enough to press or defend the run, makes too many mental errors...The sort of thing he struggles with tend to compound in the NFL." Out of the NFL. About Trent Richardson, I called him "a  'tease' who will seduce someone only to be released later." Out of the NFL. On Cameron Erving, I liked him early on, but after further study, I determined that he was one of the most overrated offensive linemen in the draft. That he'd never be able to play center in the NFL. After several tries at center in Cleveland, he was traded to KC...where he's now a backup tackle. 

And, dude, I'm just stupid fan. They have access to film and analytics, ex-coaches, etc. There's NO excuse for how they've drafted, especially from 2011 to 2015, which should be the players that represent the core of their team right now. ALL players have a degree of bust factor. It almost seems as if they identify players  with the highest bust factor and move them to the top of the list.

You're correct. And to think there have been times that we as Vikings fans have thought that we have it bad.

Since 1990 (25 seasons for them) they're averaging a 5-11 record, and within those years they've only managed to even be .500 for three of those seasons!  Just three damn seasons in 27 years they've had more than seven wins!?  These players entering the draft don't know a Browns team that hasn't been shit.  Hell, even middle-aged people don't.  Other than a few years in the 80's they've been basically garbage since the 60's.  I don't think anybody, including those in the organization and their fans can blame anyone for not wanting to play there.  It's not a rebuilding period or open and closed windows for that franchise.  Hope and optimism don't count for much when achieving is just reaching .500.  They should let history go and make drastic changes... like renaming the team and changing colors/unis... And I just heard the Vikings have been in the playoffs something like 27 of their 57 years. Close to every other season. And then you need to remember that its been about 31-32 years with the expanded playoffs, so it was even more difficult back in the day to get to the dance.

I think it's Cleveland lack of a consistent system that has led to so many players busting there.  We talk about how much our team has grown each year under Zimmer,  we'll Cleveland ownership likely would have fired Zimmer after last year.  Right or wrong they need to find a GM and coaching staff that are in sync with what they are doing and stick with them for about 5 years minimim.  Turnover and turmoil at the top trickles down to shit and suck age at the bottom.

Rosen is the best this class has to offer and hes a damn good QB. I wish the Vikings could have a chance at him. I have liked Rosen since the start of last years.
Never been on the Darnold bandwagon. Too many flaws and his mechanics are nothing to write about IMO. He is saying the right things because he will and is dropping in the draft. He is taking his shot to be the first overall pick after Rosen said he essentially has no interest in the Browns.
