Healthy Teddy can throw all those TDS but he doesn’t throw those picks

It's the topic du jour, sensitive as a cracked tooth while drinking cold water. C'mon, you knew that OP.

Anyways, I understand we can pick apart Cases' bad throws today, and we really need to know what we got in #5, but Zim better better damn careful about tweaking a 7/2 team too much or at the wrong time.

I think Zimmer needs to be more worried about that defense that gave up 30 points today.
The offense won the game for us.

Last year Keenum got caught in Fishers shit storm which really lowered Case's career stats.

Jared Goff had 355 yards and 3 TDs today. Case Keenum had 304 yards and 4 TDs today. Last year Goff and Keenum were both on the Rams, who had the worst offense in the NFL. I'm beginning to think Jeff Fisher and his staff were not a bunch of offensive geniuses.

Next week will be a tough game.

and thats why Zim wants him playing. I love Case, I do but we saw both sides of Case today and it almost cost us a damn good win. I have zero doubt Teddy couldnt make any of the big throws today, zero. Same for Sam. But man you cant throw the game away or be ineffective in major pressure situations

Case you have done great, but you cant throw these games away

Here's the thing...  Case didn't throw the game away.  He came close to doing it...  but he didn't.  He was a big reason for why the Vikings won today, despite letting the Redskins back into the game in the 4th quarter.  Those two picks were a big blemish on what was an outstanding performance, but 38 points and over 400 yards of offense is FANSTASTIC production.
Also...  please stop making grandiose statements about what Teddy would or wouldn't have done...  the fact is, there are a number of fans that HOPE Teddy can become a great QB for this team, but he still has to prove it.  I'm one of those that feels he is our long-term QB moving forward, but Keenum is the present right now and I'll be cheering my ass off for him to continue to succeed.  Teddy will get a shot eventually and then we'll see what we have.  Just enjoy 7-2 and the fact that this team is a major factor in the NFC despite being on our 3rd QB in 3 seasons.

Ignoring the fact that our defense gave up way too many points to make this closer than it should have been, and projecting that on a QB's 2 bad throws in a 38-30 game is a more than a little myopic. I mean this wasn't 17-14.
2 bad throws?  you should say only 2 of his bad throws were picked off.  There were at least 2 more that should/could have been picks.  I am sliding back and forth on when is the right time to make the switch,  but lets not pretend that Cases play is beyond scrutiny because we were pretty lucky he was playing against a poor defense yesterday or i think it would have been much uglier.

he made most of the throws he had to yesterday and led the team out of the gate like I want to see from our QB,  but i still am not seeing the improvement in his flaws that I would like to see.   He is still starring down his targets and floating to many passes for my tastes.  When he is on... he is on,  but a good defense will exploit these issues IMO.

with that said... I wont be calling for his replacement this week at least, and I dont like the idea of him having to look over his shoulder during a game.  Zim needs to make him understand that its not going to be a few bad throws that prompt the change unless its just a complete mess like Sam at Chicago.  Its not fair to Case and its not fair to Teddy to send him into a shitty situation where the defense is already on the offensive due to score.   If Case starts against the rams.. i expect him to finish if healthy.

i think you’re high!

I’m pulling for Teddy, but if you think he doesnt throw picks like every other QB, you’re stoned.

And if he doesn’t, then he isnt throwing the ball downfield enough. Sometimes you put the ball up there and let your WR’s make a play.
Not in those situations you dont.

There O line looked a lot like ours did last year as well, and they also went and got Olinemen this offseason.

I get it Norse and the same thing was kinda of floating around the back of my head during the game.

But hell, sometimes we just got to tip our hat to the other team, or one part of the team needs to back the other up when they might not have their A game going.

Its not often the Vikings D isn't holding a team to under 24 pts, but they wont be great every game, especially on the road.

We saw 68 pts and 700+ yards of offense yesterday, I'll bet we see 50 pts and 500 yards of offense when the Rams and Vikings meet @ USB this Sunday.

Our D did hold them under 24 points.  7 points were directly on the offense.  And another score was setup by Digg's and his stupid goal post penalty, leading to a kick return to the 45 or so.

But this game also cemented the reason I don't want Cousins.  He makes some stupid decisions at times.

When I have to start defending the almosts or should haves, I give up. 38 pts. and 400 yards of offense is good football by ANY measure. If you want to scrutinize Case for that go right ahead. Where is your scrutiny of our defense? A much bigger problem than Case yesterday.
