I guess if fans want to keep spinning in despair they can have at it.
I'm going to vent, but still hold out some hope.
To each their own (shrug)
Exactly. Entering every thread on this board and shitting all over it that KOC and KAM sucks, you can get that anywhere on the Interwebs. McCarthy isn't done yet. I know some have got the shovels out and that's fine, but he's not finished yet. Games to be played. Even if JJ improves these last games, I 100% guarantee KOC brings in a real competitor for a starting battle in QB camp: A young guy like Anthony Richardson, a draft pick or a guy like Will Levis. I don't see Wentz here next year. Brosmer is going to be QB3.
Some of the fanbase loves the misery. I swear.

Boom and well said!!
I posted the same in another thread.
The kids played like 6 games and in most of those? KOC hadn't dumbed it down enough yet - he even said so.
I have a gut feeling JJ is going to look better at home this week vs Commodes. I think a week off to re-center is what he really needed at that moment.
Thats my hope anyways and that this post ages well lol!

This for sure. It just hasn't happened in Minnesota in a long time and JJ is bringing it to the bottom of the barrel, but the thought still stands. I think he has a decent game against Washington, I think seeing Max tank shows him that it happens to everyone. He's going to be calmer this Sunday, JMO.

You guys can say, "well he's only played in six games" but he had the benefit of sitting out last year and learning (so we thought). He was given the starting job and took every rep in training camp and the preseason. He's been coached up by an alleged quarterback savant in KOC and quarterback coach Josh McCown. There should be no reason he wasn't fully prepared for the job ahead of him. Instead he looks lost, is inaccurate, and there's talk of mechanic issues and stuff just not computing in his head. I'll just say I don't share the same optimism as a few of you thinking he's just going to all of a sudden turn things around

I do think that JJM will figure it out at some point and become who we all thought he was. I'm not ready to get my hopes up yet on a per game basis. Do agree that this little mini-break was probably helpful for him. Let the ball of intensity take a game off.
I kind of think we're in too deep and dumbing it down isn't that helpful. I think they should just do whatever they've practiced the most and focus on getting him to see the defense faster and where the weak spots in the defense are, and make a team goal to get like 200 yards rushing and figure out how to achieve that (with a focus on JJM avoiding hits if he's running).

He's going to have to be a major outlier to be serviceable according to the analytics.

EXACTLY!!! There was another QB out there last night who also looked WAY better than McCarthy and he as only played in 8 games in his young NFL Career and lost RB Skattebo, RB Tracy, and WR Malik Nabors and some key Offensive linemen, And yet here is his stats:
63.6 Comp% 1556 yds 11 Tds 3 Ints
Rushed for 337 yards and 7 TDs
Here is JJ Stats for 6 games:
54.1 Comp% 929 yds 6 Tds 10 Ints
Rushed for 120 yards and 2 TDs.

I do not find that a valid argument and it is getting to be a worn out excuse. They are all QBs who are in the 2nd year and all 6 have had TWO full seasons of off season camps, workouts and training camps. While JJ was hurt for the regular season last year, he still took part in all of the team meetings and film sessions. Same thing this year. He is not a rookie just his 6th game.
We cannot use his lack of real game experience as an excuse for not being able to throw an accurate pass to a WR ten yards away. He played major college football under one of the best QB coaches and has now had two years with KOC and yet his mechanics are still this bad? You can chalk up the throws into triple coverage and poor decisions to a lack of experience, but his biggest issue is that he cannot throw a football with any resemblance of NFL accuracy.
I am puling for the kid and hope he gets it together, but at this point, he has to be able to hit a wide open WR standing in front of him.

Watched Maye last night, very impressive! His accuracy and pocket movement/feel is unbelievable for a 2nd yr QB. Also as Chilli used to say, he makes routine plays routinely! Bright future for him and the Patriots. Sigh…
