Shanahan is one of the better HC's in the league. Knows what he's doing and what he's got (or not) in Purdy.
I personally dont think he's elite, but he's good. Plenty good enough to win a SB for a team with a decent surround. Which the 49'ers have more often than not over the decades.
Yep, I think the coaching staff of the 49ers love Purdy a lot more than most fans or the sports media does. I mean the kid has been to a Superbowl and lost in overtime, so yeah....they can obviously win with him and he's going to get paid. Some can say 'well they need a great team around him'.....yeah but so does every NFL Superbowl winner outside Patrick Mahomes or Tom Brady (probably Josh Allen as well soon). Its exactly what Minnesota is trying to do with JJ McCarthy.
