Right now, if you are the NY Giants....

Sam is likely to move onto a team that will offer him a starting gig. Mullens is also going to be a FA although he could resign here. I don't see a team offering Jones a starting gig next year. So, why not sign with Minnesota & see if KOC can turn his career around as he did with Darnold.

why not,  because JJM is going to be the one getting the playing time (fingers crossed,  but just on one hand so I dont jinx this bitch) unlike this season where the plan was to sit JJM, and let him learn for a most of the year, that allowed Sam an opportunity to showcase his growth,  that opportunity was hopefully a 1 and done deal and whoever signs here to be the back-up should not anticipate getting any meaningful opportunities to showcase himself.

unless, like MB speculates... Danny Boy feels like he needs a reset year before continuing his career and wants a good place to culture some new inner peace, only problem with that is this is the NFL (Not For Long) as in if he goes off the radar for even a year,  it could really hamper him ever getting another legit offer to start if JJM comes out and crushes and Danny never sees the light of day in 25.

Our own franchise has had generational talents all over the field. Our best chances at championships have primarily come when we had generational QUARTERBACK play (Tark, Favre, Cunningham).

If they had drafted Darnold it's doubtful he'd still be there. He likely would've encountered the same problems there as he had on the Jets.

Yeah, Keenum.   Fell apart when it got real in the NFC Title game.   But then again so did Cunningham and Favre.

Favre didnt so much fall apart, as he got torn apart.

They'd be a candidate to overpay Sam. This will be his one chance at that big payday - after working for a good coach and having good weapons, a lot of his flaws are masked by this, though if you are watching carefully they are still there. The 10 cent head will never change. But the Giants are a really poorly run org with a lousy g.m. so it might be an opportunity for Sam to get a payday. They will throw good money after bad.

Also there are limited options for Sam out there. Just go up and down the league and see who needs a qb and/or isn't going after one in the draft. Maybe the Rams if Stafford quits. Raiders or Titans maybe. Watching Sam play for those outfits would be disaster porn.

Nabers already has a concussion so there is that. When they drafted Saquon Barkley is the start of what set them back. The Giants are a hot mess

Giants thought they were being really savvy by having everyone think they were going QB, when they were going WR all along, however the joke is on them as they it is a QB league and they were without a franchise QB on their roster. They needed to take advantage of drafting that high in a very deep QB draft.

I have heard some wild speculation that the Giants go the bridge QB route until Arch Manning is eligible for the draft. They then use their connections with the Manning family to orchestrate scenario where they can draft him.
