What are you willing to give up for your QBOTF?
#11
Daniels: 11+23+ '25 1st

Maye, McCarthy: 11+23 (Maye has the insane ceiling but might trainweck.  McCarthy plays like a 24-year-old at 21)

Penix: 11, keep 23 (odd nobody has leaked Penix's medicals yet)

Nix: 23, keep 11

History tells us many of these (if not all) will fail to become a top flite QB. In my estimation, the Vikes have too many holes to compete for a championship and gutting two years of drafts is not the way to build a sustainable competitive roster. The 2025 1st could very well be a top 10-12 pick. I would move 11, 23 and perhaps a later round pick for Maye or Daniels, but certainly not the 2025 1st. To even consider giving up three #1's the QB is going to have to be at a Burrow level for me.

What if Kevin O'Connell loves one of the QBs and our only chance to get that QB is to give up 11+23 and our 2025 first?  If he loves him and we feel comfortable giving that up, I'm down with that.

I posted this before the board exploded and we got a brand new nice place to chat...  but what if we put those picks as players?  Like those 3 firsts are Addison, Lewis Cine, and Andrew Booth?  Would you trade those 3 players for a franchise QB?  I would.

Obviously if we don't hit on the QB, that'll be an indictment in Kevin and Kwesi and they likely won't be running the team too long after that and we should have a full compliment of picks at that time.

I think it's long overdue this team takes a real shot at finding a franchise QB.  If we wait to see what's left, we'll end up with the Ponders and Teddy's of the QB world.  I guess I'd rather risk taking a shot than being worried about missing.

When you put it that way I’m with you. If they are that set on a guy, I’m fine with giving up more.

I’d give up a lot for Daniels. I’d give up a ton for Nix. Their ceilings are stupid high and the risk is palatable. The other guys could be amazing as well, but I consider the risk of giving up a lot is simply too high.

IMO, Our team will make out better with Penix + 23 + our 2025 first  rather than Daniels, Maye, or McCarthy without 23 and 2025 first.

Can I reprise the "boom?"

It is time to swing for the fences if they have conviction:

Daniels/Maye - 11/23 + 25 1st + garnishment pick
JJ = 11/23 + 24 garnishment
Penix - 11
Nix > 11 and b4 23 (I dont think he makes it past Raiders)

I'll add my Raonall Smith and Lewis Cine jerseys to your bounty if that will seal the deal. Tough items to part with, but sacrifices need to be made

In all honesty, whatever it takes. I just want this team to identify the one guy whom they think can get this team to the next level and go get him at whatever cost.

In free agency, this team has been aggressive in going to get QBs they think are difference makers. They have NEVER done that in the draft (unless you count Teddy).

If we’re going to draft a QB to hitch this offense to, I’m sick of “waiting to see who’s available” and taking leftovers. I’d be far more accepting of going up to get a guy that doesn’t pan out than taking the 5th or 6th best QB in a class, watching them be mid, and seeing a guy drafted before them having success.

Just go get your guy and don’t look back

due to the number of teams that are in dire need of a QB, the bidding war will drive up the price of the trade significantly this year
