I thought there was no way to win with a rookie QB?

Did anyone say that, or the odds of it happening are incredibly low?

Don't interfere with logic, Cousins sucks and the Vikings can go to the Super Bowl with a rookie QB. And if they can't, its KOC's fault.

Where's the Flacco Mania crowd now?
When I look back to the draft I try to figure out why this guy turned out to be special compared to the rest of the QB class. When I have watched him in the pros it is easy to say accuracy and composure. But what really jumps out to me is how fast he is at processing. He goes through his reads rapidly and pulls the trigger as soon as he sees the receiver who is breaking open. He's better at this than a lot of veteran QB's.

I think forecasting a QB to go from College to PRo's just has a huge % of luck to it...
How many "can't miss" prospects are in the garbage heap of mediocre or they just sucked?
Oh well, nothing new here. Most of us know this is to be the case, and if you're the Vikings? You still need to take an at bat for one.

That's the thing about the Vikings. They haven't been very willing to take a swing at a top rated QB in the draft. Some of it is because they haven't had a favorable draft position, and some because they haven't had very good results when they have drafted QB's. That goes back quite a ways.
Hopefully Kwesi won't be afraid to do what is necessary to go get the one they want.
The chance of finding a good one early in the draft is poor. But looking for an overlooked gem in the mid to later rounds is rare. Despite that, I would like them to keep trying, and they haven't seemed willing in the past.

I think its more of the bold. The misses made Rick scared of taking QBs. Mahomes, Rodgers heck even Love and Dak were all drafted out of the top 10. I tryly beleive its trusting your guy on your work.
It is like they are not sure about what they see and wouod rather be dipping their toes and pretend they are taking care of the QB position by drafting qbs in round 6+. That way when they bomb no one holds them accountable

It’s not just Rick. Most of this board is terrified of drafting QB early too. Love, Stroud, Lance, Hurts, Z Wilson… some good, some bad, some some picked early, some picked late. Drafting a bust at QB isn’t a death sentence like some make it out to be. And hitting on one is tenure defining for a coach and GM. Vikes need to try again this draft.
I say who ever falls to 11 you take. Either Penix, McCarthy, Nix, or if even Maye is there. One of them should be there.
