Mullens apparently will be the backup. Wtf has happened to Jaren Hall!? Kid looked good in his first start, gets knocked out, and now is buried on the depth chart. Makes me wonder if the concussion was worse then originally let on
I don’t know what you are even talking about.  Mullens was on IR when Hall got his start, so
I don’t think we can say that Hall was ever over Mullens.  Hall had like 10 total snaps and probably
didn’t even get out of the scripted plays until they were in the redzone, which
is hardly enough to establish being “good”.
Furthermore, I think there’s very much a possibility that Dobbs and Hall
were in the running for starting, while Mullens would the primary backup for either
due to his experience in the system and the league and probably the greater ability
to come in cold at any given moment, so I wouldn’t call it damning evidence for
Hall just because Mullens is the “backup”.
I think all you can say for sure is that Hall hasn't blown the doors off his competition in practice and firmly established himself as the starter.
I'm talking about him being the only QB under contract for next season and him playing what you could describe as "good" in his only start before getting knocked out. But I kind of figured the Vikings would go with Dobbs until they were officially eliminated, then maybe Hall plays again. I think most of us know what Dobbs is, we don't know what Hall is and I think most of us would like to find out in a more than one game setting

I am not at all surprised by this. Keep the stability and let's roll

Hall won't play until they are out of the playoff hunt. Hopefully, that doesn't happen. But if they lose this week, they should consider it sooner.
I understand staying with Dobbs this week. The big question is whether he can get the ball to Jefferson. I'm skeptical right now. But I do believe he could make it happen if KOC can call the right plays. We shall see.

I gotta think that Dobbs can only know, what, maybe 25% of the playbook?  Doesn't that drastically limit KOC's play calling?

I mean Mullens knowledge of the offense, alone, should put him ahead of Dobbs if we REALLY wanted to "stay in the hunt".  I almost feel like this is a covert way of tanking.

Looking forward to the Disastronaut turning it over several times this Sunday.

I hate feeling like this and bagging on the young man, but I don't trust this kid to hang onto the football. He's careless with it. I'm surprised that KOC is going with him when IMO Mullens is a better option and will limit turnovers. We'll see I suppose.....

I dont think Dobbs has a starting caliber ceiling and Hall most likely got concussed more than we may have thought.

Maybe, but we have no healthy QBs with a starting caliber ceiling. Maaaaybe Hall can follow a Heineke/Browning path and be solid in a few years but the fan obsession with him has been over the top. And Mullens is Mullens.
Dobbs is the only one of the 3 who I've watched help this team win games, so he should be the guy for at least this week and longer unless it's another total meltdown.

Dobbs hasn't proven he can play within a system and win. His first two games were running around playing backyard football.

I suspect they want to see him when JJ is out there and defenses are playing them very differently than b4.

I dont have an issue with him starting - not a big one anyways. I think Mullens would have given us a better shot of winning.
