Its tough to stack up good years in the NFL. You'll get exposed. When I started hearing the 'next Tom Brady' horseshit earlier this year from the media, I knew the wheels would come off.

The Brady comp was achieved using high level football analysis based on years of experience and I'm surprised you'd be so skeptical of it.
Let me explain how it was done, then I think you'll have a better understanding:
Tom Brady - 3 syllables
Brock Purdy - 3 syllables
It's so obvious! B)

Purdy has a concussion and shouldn't have been playing today.
The Tua incident last year changed nothing.
remember, its the NFL, where player safety comes first.... thing after profits.
Agree with Sloter's take in this conversation with a Viking fan about Cousins...er, I mean Purdy.
This is a shameful post. Stats are stats, I get it. I hadn’t had a chance to watch the game but had heard people calling for Brock Purdy to be benched. I went into the film ready to make a “What’s Going on with Purdy?” breakdown and I shit you not, aside from 3 bad plays this dude played an impeccable game. I’m talking best Quarterbacking of the week type game. If you’re calling for this man’s job, you don’t know ball. I like your takes but with all due respect. you can't just eliminate three epically bad throws like they never happened.
Two were bad decisions and the fumble wasn’t his fault. I think if you understand how often the average QB messes up assignments even on plays that appear good, you’d understand. If they just had a 70 play game, Purdy was perfect on 67/70. Most QB are probably in the 50/70 range on execution and assignment.
I started this thread really not to slam Purdy as much as show the ridiculousness of fans and the media. 4 weeks ago he was the next Tom Brady. Now dipshit fans are calling for him to be benched. Its so fucking stupid. I've been following Sloter on Twitter, he does a good job breaking down QB play. Its a new thing he started doing about 5 weeks ago.
Hey, the kid isn't Tom Brady. And you know what, I'm sure Brock never thought or said he was....that was the hyperbolic media. And he also shouldn't be benched. Mostly, he's playing fairly well, but he's come back to earth. He also has been dealing with a concussion. I'd say let the kid breath the air but that doesn't happen in the land of clicks and views.

Agree. Fans overreact about every damn thing. I like that Sloter puts Purdy's performance into context with the rest of the NFL. That is a blind spot for many fans I think.
Reminds me of a comment a couple years ago. Someone went on an epic rant about how horrible Cousins YPA was, presumably trying to support a check-down narrative, without realizing that his YPA, however terrible this poster might have thought it was, ranked 4th in the NFL. Context.

People forget about the near perfect games and dwell on the imperfections. It’s human nature. However, in the win now society we live in, players aren’t even given the chance to develop. This is Purdy’s second year. He’s being asked to do more, because he’s grown over the last year, so there will be mistakes made.
I’m pretty sure even Tom Brady made mistakes. Most NFL fans just didn’t see them because they don’t watch every game he played. Today, clickbait articles and knuckleheads on TV are fueling the narrative of how good or bad some player is just to get views, and fans buy into it.

Brady made mistakes, but they couldnt see them because they were blinded by the glare coming off all those big ass superbowl rings. :p
