GBN updated Mock Draft
#11
Kiper updated his top 25 big board a few days ago. Still has Williams at 1, Maye at 2, and Shaduer Sanders at 5. Otherwise he doesn't have another quarterback on his list. Heavy on offensive and defensive lineman (strong group), and receivers, which has been the trend.

Just my hunch at this point, but Ive always said we aren't a bad enough team to be drafting top 10. We likely extend Cousins and probably draft a defensive lineman with that becoming a heavy favorite if we do in fact trade Hunter in the coming weeks. Same old Vikings...wash, rinse, repeat...

Brace yourself because we are probably going on a run after this 49ers game. We'll end up with 7 or 8 wins when all is said and done and the front office will have reached their competitive mandate.

that would be the worst definition of "competitive" in the history of bad definitions.

I mean, for this fan base is there anything worse than the constant purgatory of winning 7 or 8 games? Either be bad, or be a contender. Nothing worse than being stuck right in the middle which is the waters this franchise continually swims in

purgatory sucks and I said as much in another thread...

That said, w/out JJ? The wins will be harder to come by
Addison is a rookie
Mattison has looked pedestrian
KJ/TJ - both are just not on their "A games" this year

If I recall right, the Chiefs made a big move up to top 10/12 to get Mahomes? So nice things can happen to those with the balls to make a move.

I can almost guarantee the Wilfs will look at it as if we can get an immediate impact player and improve on a deficiency, re-sign Kirk, it puts us right into the contender conversation. Kwesi's seat should be getting warm by that point and he will also be needing immediate impact on the field. The clear defenciencies are along both lines. I could easily see us winning 7 or 8 games, bringing Cousins back on a short extension, and once again taking a swing on a mid round quarterback. I would bet money that's the most likely scenario at this point

Stay competitive enough to keep the fans hopeful and continue to sell that they are close, we just have to clean up the turnovers and execute better and then anything can happen.  That sales pitch is getting old and stale.  Just good enough to keep drafting in the 15- 20 range.

I'm not sure as fans we can continue to put the OL in the same conversation as the DL?

Look at the thread @StickyBun started on OL pff scores. Those guys are really improving - most of them anyhow.
