Masters of missed opportunities and turnovers

I'm not watching this play again. I was fuming. It happens to Minnesota...a lot. Don't forget this gem:

I feel like Cousins is playing like Zimmer was
coaching.  He knows that the front office
wants to move on and is trudging through the lame duck year, and while he’s
certainly not playing bad, I think he is playing at like 85% of what he’s
capable of, and that’s not good enough.
That said, I look at all the missed opportunities, and most of egregious
ones are on other players.  I think
Mattison and Hockenson are looking very unclutch this year and these are both
guys that the team has rewarded with commitment and contracts.  I think it’s always been pretty clear that
this year was more about rebuilding and less about being competitive, and I
think guys that are on teams that have limited rosters, just aren’t going to
give you 100% and that’s the difference between winning and losing.

The part I don’t understand is why we looked so
crisp in 2 minute drills and in the red zone last year, and this year it’s like
they’ve never done it before.

I see the turnovers, and wince...right out of the gate, yesterday...but I'll repeat something I've said a few times, now:

Hock does NOT have the hands of a top-tier tight end.  I think both Shiancoe and Kleinsasser caught more consistently, I can promise that Rudolph did.

Maybe it comes from having gotten to watch both Anthony and Cris Carter, along with Jake Reed and Randy Moss...plus Steve Jordan...but WOW, why don't our receivers have a "catch radius", anymore?

It seems like I'm watching passes hitting, and bouncing off our players, week after week, in numbers I can't fathom...!

I think its a valid observation. The main reason, IMO, is that the team is gripping a bit. They are all trying too hard to overcome the turnovers. Pushing harder than necessary and getting a bit desperate and skittish in scoring territory.

I'm far from ready to just absolutely shit all over KAM and KOC, I like KOC a ton and I'm still in limbo with KAM as I'm giving him one more Draft/offseason signings next year then I'll access. I'm a fan of the Wilfs as owners big time.

But even with some sporadic wins this year, you can see that its time to rebuild and look ahead. Enough of this not being a reality. The organization can say what it wants publicly, but privately they better be preparing. Right now.
I like KOC.  But why is the team so unprepared this year versus last?

By unprepared I mean, penalties, lack of focus, dropping crucial passes.  Thankfully I haven't wasted much time watching it, but the times I did tune in, KJO drops a critical pass.  Cousins missing a throw.

Dunno, looks like a team that either believed their own bullshit about destiny and failed to prepare or a team that needs a good old Zimmer kick in the ass.  Maybe the nice guy coach failed.

Yep....I don't typically lose it when watching the Vikings anymore, but that ridiculous prayer on 3rd and 18 that Mahomes threw up....and converted....well, let's just say a new remote is arriving from Amazon today.

I don't either anymore, those days are long gone. But I did get up and pace a bit, shaking my head and saying, 'Are you fucking kidding me?' I got a look from the dog like, 'Uh oh, is this moving to DEFCON 3?' But no, kept it pretty calm. But I was fuming inside.

Mahomes doing Mahomes stuff.  most frustrating is that if the hands were a little better, refs were a little better, dont drop the ball on first play, yesterday we win

This is the $mm question aint it?

Its the one thing we can never predict as fans either.

I think at this point? They're feeling the hands gripping tighter around their throats.
