How in the world do you trade someone for a 7th rounder 2 drafts from now?  Is that like an undrafted player in next years draft lol?
LOL. Yeah, talk about meaningless comp. QBs, even backups, typically go for more than that. This is a good move, good trade and Mullens is a guy from a similar offense and plenty of starting experience. We can now breathe easier....
2. Mullens' 4,405 passing yards in his first 16 starts mark the second-most by any quarterback in NFL history in that span, trailing only Patrick Mahomes (5,100). Mullens has played in 19 career games with 16 starts, tossing 387 completions for 4,714 yards and 25 touchdowns.
Sounds good,  BUT   ???

IIRC yeah he played for Kyle Shanahan in SF and put up some stats behind a not so good oline.

The dude is no Case Keenum but the difference between him and Mannion is unbelievable. Mond to the practice squad for another year.  Miracles happen I guess.  We probably  need to invest significant draft capital in a QB next year.....this coming from a Cousins supporter.

Ok, back to the compensation. A conditional 7th 2 years from now would lead me to believe not only does he have to make our roster this year.  He has to make our roster next year to give up anything in this trade.

Case Keenum didn't do anything before that magical year with us.  26 games played, had 24/20 TD/INT ratio...  Threw for about 5K yards.

Mullens is exactly the type of backup that Keenum was/is.  This was a good move.  Hopefully kicks Mannion off the roster and let's Mond have another year to adjust to the speed of the NFL.

The condition is that he just has to be active for 1 game this year.
