A part of me wishes TC was right around the corner so we know who'll most probably be on the roster for the season. My head's going to explode thinking of all the different things that may happen in the next couple months.
I really have pretty low expectations for this coming season,  I think the notion that KOC will come in and install an offense, learn playcalling, as well as how to be a head coach quickly enough to have a real shot at doing anything this year is really sporting the shades.  I see a lot of potential hurdles to success this year so I have kind of resigned to just sitting back and enjoying the ride.
Maybe it will be different now that the QB will feel comfortable to call audibles and necessary timeouts.  Maybe he will even be a bit more aggressive?  That is all we need right?

Someone believes KOC is unlocking the magic of Kirk after 10 years... just not me.  Wink

sure,  if he can audible himself an OL that can consistently block,  and take time outs when they dont before getting piss pounded to the point that he gets skiddish and starts airmailing his passes.  i dont put as much of his shortcomings on the old coach as some others,  sure Zim was a dick, but that cant be the entire reason that he has always been good,  just not good enough.

and like I said.. lots of new things to over come this season to think we are going somewhere.  I didnt even bring up a new D and a shit load of holes on that side of the ball.

Not hard to call plays better than the ass hat we had last year...ie no Fullback or TE fade routes and obvious 2nd down runs that get stuffed at the LOS every play. I just want to see a healthy, competent defense out there. I think that gives us the best chance to full evaluate everything because for the last two offseasons it has been difficult to analyze based on several game injuries and off the field distractions (Gladney, Griffen again, etc).

Put me on the no side of Za'Darius stictly because of injury concern and the depth of this DE class. If we do sign him and he stays healthy, then I expect him to be a very good player for us

If the #Vikings were to land Za'Darius Smith, he could be the pass rusher on one side and Danielle Hunter the pass rusher on the other side. In the last season in which both were healthy, they combined for 28 sacks in 2019. Hunter had 14 1/2 and Smith 13 1/2.

Where do you put the odds that both would be able to play a full season?  Something like almost none?
i don't know about Smith, but Hunter was hurt both of the last two seasons. Do you think that makes him more likely to get hurt, or less? Just curious

it was the QB that decided to throw to the full back and te on those routes,  the plays werent designed with just 1 option for him.  I think you will still see issues with the passing game and where Kirk goes with the ball,  he seems ( to me anyway) to kind of make a pre snap decision on what is going to be his safest option and quite often he is going to stick with that even if its not the best one.

I agree on zadarius,  we have had enough of overpriced under performance the last few years.  I am saying the same thing on Clowney,  he has never impressed me with his durability,  only 1 full season in his career.

I dont know how deep the edge rushers go this year?

Just a hunch they do DB with pick #12 though. They need someone to help out on the other DE, but not sure ZDS or Clowney are those guys.

I understand it was his decision, but they should never be running those routes in the first place.

Agreed on Clowney...never been a fan of that guy either. The fact that he was All Pro in 2016 is a total joke
