I would agree.  If they're basing payout on diminished mental capacity....they kind of need to know what your full mental capacity was.  I'm not saying that one race is this or that just that they have to come up with some sort of formula to figure that out.   

Anyone care to take a stab at how they'd figure out who was how smart after decades of head trauma?  I'm sure there are plenty of smart and not smart people of all races who played football in the last 7 decades. 

Take a guy like Robert Smith.  Dude still had tread on the tires but got out of the game.  You wonder if he'll still eventually suffer from the same head trauma as say a guy like Emmit Smith.  Same era of head protection but Robert took 3k less carries.

This is not a surprise to me. In my experience, some of the worst offenders of race based decision making are those the loudest about racial equality/equity. The NFL is just another one of the many organizations that say one thing, but do the opposite in actual action.

How many of the major corporations are currently taking public stances, while they are far from diverse themselves? It is about the money, not about right or wrong. It’s absolutely disgusting, but shockingly it continues to go on today with nary a word or consequences. Look how long this went without any ramifications. It’s simply unbelievable. 
This isn’t a political problem in society. It’s a power and especially privilege problem; where the offenders come from all backgrounds and maintain “righteous” indignation while holding deep seeded, often absurd assumptions.

Nailed it,  its not about righting wrongs or inequality,   its about controlling the spin and can they do it in a way to profit from it.    How many people cry about slavery and poor conditions for blacks 100 years ago,  but support Nike despite their track record of using near slave like labor and disgusting 3rd world work conditions.  Especially repulsive are the big names that are propt up as heros for racial cases that take endorsement money from Nike and many more companies doing the same shit.

Thanks for the informed view discarding any discussion on how this may have originated. Should the NFL now ensure that all races are equally represented in the rosters of each NFL team?
