did he just buy the hammer at Menards?

Nothing justifies assaulting the officer, but Menards needs to realize what Walmart realized early on.  Harassing people about medical issues doesn't end well.  Leave people the hell alone.
yes leave people alone

And with the officer caught in the window, there was a risk of shooting the officer rather than the perp.  Lots of people in the area, risk of accidently hitting a pedestrian.

people need to get over themselves,  yours, mine, or any others sense of freedom shouldnt trump a business owners right to regulate who they do business with and if Menards wants to say you cant shop in their stores without a mask then its their right to say as much.   you want to be left alone,  then dont try to go someplace and do something you arent allowed to do,  in this case shopping in menards without a mask.

which, if you are offended by their policy, is exactly how you should respond.

gay people, and those that support gay rights, should have just boycotted that bakery,

if you dont like smoking then stay the fuck out of bars and businesses that allow it.

the list goes on,  people like to wave that free country flag only when it aligns with their wants and wishes but have zero qualms suggesting that others should have their rights and freedoms crushed if they dont agree with them.
