Hopefully the victim is alright. As for Gladney, there is no way that whatever was on that phone was worth throwing his career away for, but that was the choice that he made. It's hard to see this being a case with nuance like what happened with Alexander when he thought his Dad was kidnapped or killed.
Fortunately, the Vikings have some good depth at corner right now and for better or worse, it gives someone like Hughes a chance to prove himself. Unfortunately, Peterson, Alexander, and Hughes are all FAs after this season, so if someone like Surtain slides to them, which is possible if there are runs at QB and OT, then he may be too good to pass up. Also, the Vikings new DB coach was Surtain's position coach in college.
