Paton to Bronco's?
#11
He's getting a second interview with Denver today. Only candidate so far to get that. Looking like he's probably gone. Good for him, sincerely.
Hopefully Rick will still be able to have good drafts without George.

I have often wondered in the spelly / paton relationship who is along for the ride,  and will we keep the right one.  Looking like we will find out.
I think the most interesting thing is why Paton has stayed in the Viking's organization so long with so much interest over the years?

hes had a lot of interest,  but how many of those were by teams with ownership issues that would try and run the team around him?  I can see him not wanting his first opportunity to be in a volatile franchise that is quick to make changes and not give a path a real chance to lead some where.

Edit:  personally I have always thought that Spielman wasnt a lifer and the Wilfs were making promises to Paton to keep him in house,  kind of the string the girlfriend along by saying you are leaving your wife kind of deal.

At the bold...

Say what?  =)

After Elway fired himself, I thought there was a pretty good chance they'd try to get a piece of the Vikings. Jeudy over Jefferson, Lynch over Dak, Osweiller over Russell Wilson...Drew Lock, Shane Ray, Sylvester Williams--Elway has been one of the worst drafting GMs in football.

Honestly I think the Wilfs and spielman have created a respected stable organization.  Just need a franchise QB

Monday it was Kubiak

Today Paton.

The Vikings will lose players and talent in UFA again in 2020.

Add players and coaches exits from 2019, IMHO this organization is going in the wrong direction.

I'm not sure I'm going to lose much sleep over Kubiak retiring. He might stay as advisor. The optics of OC #6 imo is worse than him heading out of Eagan.

Ask me again after 2021 though  Wink
